Computers have had sound since? 1990? Yeah it was around that time; yet, we still dont have a notification that someone has opened a private chat, with Directx 11 updates to Eve late last year?
Yes, CCP, give us option to enable or disable a CUSTOM sound we choose, by browsing for it on our computer, while having a default sound you guys make. This sound will play whenever someone private's us. Think of it as "ringtones for eve messages". Personally, I'd have it as "Message mother******!"

there was a sound when you received a private message, but with dominion in winter 2009, the mail and chatsystem got overhauled and the sound for pms went away.
but i would like to have this back

Don't know know how many chats I have had with the boss when he used work IM to get my attention but I did not notice. Apparently it gives a small ding noise of somekind. I don't hear it but guess it does it.
To overpower the test servers and various text cisco devices we have in the area I'd have to pump up the volume to the point I'd need a dial that goes to 11. So I go the other way way and jsut go silent. And I miss visual warnings since not unknown for me to be remote desktopped tinto 2 servers most of the day, 1 server per screen I have. So I rarely see my puters actual desktop lol.
Eve wise sure though. May be of use for someone who has sound that can be heard I guess. |
