Edited by: Zurtur on 24/04/2006 05:18:59 Just a little funny thing i noticed today, wanna confirm if its just me or if it rly is true. For last couple of days i ve been NPCing in 0.0 system that is faaaaar from any stations etc, and best i got in 2 days was double Extinguisher spawn. While when i was in system 1 or 2 jumps from station i often got tripple massacre etc spawns.
Is there any connection between NPC spawns being crappy in systems lotsa jumps away from 0.0 station that in systems close to it?
Also i got just 1 named spawn and it was only cruiser and it didnt drop ANY named loot at all, while in system close i got named spawns much more often with good loot too. I dont know if its just me unlucky lately, but 2 days in row and still same?
Thx for answer, Z
edit: did i mention my spelling sucks?

It has nothing to do with the station systems have whats called a true sec stat rating from 0.0 to -1.0 the lower the sec stat the better the spawns. Here a neat little tool Linkage
Here Kills last month: 310 Damage done est: $5 350 000 000 (w/o mods) |

With the exception that systems in regions with pirate faction soverenity have usually a lot better spawns than systems with the same sec. rating somewhere else. In a pirate region a triple bs spawn with bounties from 1-1.7 mil isk in a -0.0x system is nothing special. You already notice it when you travel through these regions: 3 medium BS at a gate are quite common in pirate regions, while there are often so crappy npc types in other regions that just don't exist in the region, where this npc faction is at home.

Not sure about the Pirate Faction things, but it seems like systems get better when used, so if there's a station the Rat's will get killed more often and for that they will get better too. BTW this isn't a fact I haven't tested it it's just something we seem to experience in our 0.0 Corner... I cna ytpe 300 wrods pre mniuet!!!

If ur hunting guristas, they are kinda bugged with the loot table...
I killed a 13.7mil DG guy just to find a bunch of named t1 mods (not even good stuff) but no dread gurista items, not even the usual crap u get (DG tag and 1000 DG ammo).
A corp m8 of mine kills a 3mil DG BS and gets an omega implant worth couple hundred mils.
I also heard from someone that he killed a gurista officer and only got the officer tag but nothing else.. dont know how true this is as I havent really seen any screenies but after my experience with the 13mil spawn I'm leaned more towards believing this.

You can't use a handful of spawns and some anecdotes and come to the conclusion that the loot tables are broken. Statistics don't work that way. You'll get lucky one day, then have a streak of bad luck, and then a streak of good, etc . . .
But if you check the averages over 10,000 spawns, you'll see that they're probably right on target.
It's just like saying "It's got a 1 in 100 chance to drop. I didn't get it 99 times in a row, so this time it HAS to drop!"
Nope, it doesn't work that way.
