The Devs are taking a look into the situation to determine whether this is a server issue, or something further downstream.

There was an unexpected error while retrieving patch status:
A patch file for your build number is not available. You will have to patch manually.
Would you like to attempt to download the patch manually? **************************************** Thought I have newest patch..2.10.3900

Cannot connect. Moscow here. Seems like server socket has been closed, but connections made before are still alive.

I just fixed it... a proxy process died and due to a limitation of our loadbalance hardware, the loadbalancer was redirecting all connections to the dead proxy. ------ Valar Database admin - Server operations team CCP Games How to write a good bugreport |

I never had a problem getting back on, but a few seconds ago I was booted from the server for no apparent reason. I've never had disconnection issues before. ___________________________________

Still having problems connecting since the server came back up after this mornings d/t
Does anyone know if this is because of the annoying machonet files problem? and if so, how can I fix it?

Given the above info from Valor, the dodgy proxy process may perhaps account for the performance issues I have been seeing this evening. The game would simply lock up at random intervals for as long as 25 seconds. Not lag per se (unless its a very strange way of handling lag...), but almost as if everything just paused for that period of time and then came back online. Certain functions would occasionally work during these pauses (e.g. closing chat window - though it would appear to be closed instead of minimised) as well.
This wasn't occuring yesterday (for me at least). As it's not causing crashes (the 4 crashes to desktop today are a sep. issue :) I'm not worried about it, just curious.
