While I'm sorry to hear of your loss, then this is not considered to be an exploit. The player used an advanced character for the job, i.e. he did not create a character that will then be recycled because of the bad reputation and negative sec status. He had his sec status lowered and lost his ship. This is in accordance to the game mechanics. While a truly dirty tactic indeed, then there is nothing we can do about this incident other than hope that you will be able to recover from this loss in due time. Goodbye guys

I don't think petitioning results of one's own greed will get any results, it's not recorded in CCP's logs...

That's the "price" for firing on innocents in empire. The police is there as a deterrent, it doesn't stop crime from happening. Just when crime does happen, they punish the offender. Simple as that.

Are you telling me the best ship you could find in what is possibly the busiest, most well equipped station in the whole of EVE...was a shuttle? And not only that, but the reason you were reticent at first to transport the BPO was because you were aware of the risk of being ganked? Hard luck, you should transport high value items in ships suited for the job. Not a shuttle, but I agree, it was harsh on you. Also, stop moaning, don't quit EVE because of these scammers. Like someone else said, its just a game. Don't take it all too seriously, and everyone will be happy! To the scammers. It was a nice idea, but mehh a cheap one. I would hand the dude the BPO back, and stop him from quiting EVE. But then that's what I would do, and I'm perfect in every way, so mehh again.

I didnt moan on the forums or threaten to quit and i¦m still playing Eve. In my case it wasnt a scam, but in the end both cases are the users fault, not the game mechanics. Even the tutorial tells you: The police will arive and punish the offender, but i may be too late.

All you had to do was use a cruiser... ANY cruiser with a cargo can and put the bpo in the can. No one would have known what you had as its not scanable. On top of that, transporting bpos worth hundreds of million, or billions and not using a transport ship, like a blockade runner, is just asking to be ganked. Melkisadek	Posted - 2006.04.25 13:59:00 - [73] considering the OP was fully aware that a ganking was possible why are we wasting monitor ink even discussing this? while we are though can i just ask the OP a couple of quick questions 1. why leave the game when you knew the risk you were taking? - its not the games fault or CCPs fault - you did something stupid and paid the price - i agree it is a dirty tactic and against a noob would be unforgivable but you are not a noob and you KNEW the risk was there 2. why was there such a rush to get the bpo sold - waiting six hours and increasing your security by transporting with an alt or by setting up a tougher ship is surely not gonna hurt too much 3. following from the above why did you not transfer it with an alt? no alt can be more than six hours away surely??? 4. why did you not go on a quick dummy run and check the route? you could even have bought a cheap similar bpo off the market in the hope of convincing any would be ganker using a ship scanner that it was the real thing and so expose themselves i'd be interested to hear your answers to the above because as it stands i have little to no sympathy for you (thats not to say i agree with what happened - just that you could have prevented it had you really wanted to)
