i can't seem to place the BM where i want it to. i mean, i engage the warp bubble and click on add book mark in the peopl and places tab and it places the bm at the end of the warp which renders it useless for the scan probes. it would be luck to try to place the bm half way trhough the warb bubble and in order to achieve this i have to click on add bookmark as soon as the bubble is engaged because by the time it process the bm it might be half way there. and i haven't even tested it on shorter warp routes.
am i doing something wrong here or is this just the nature of the beast?
i have heard that you can intersect an opponent and breifly see him on the overview while you are warping to his general direction and simply add a bookmark while in the warb bubble to close in on his safe spot. but with this appearant lag in setting the bm this is impossible.
also, another point, when i attempt to add a BM it will show the cordinates of the placement. but, when i finish naming the BM and authorize it the placement of the bm is not representative of the coordinates it showed.

Bookmarks are truly marked when you press OK... the last step of creating the bookmark.
Try whacking Create Bookmark and immediately OK it. Fill in the details later. _______

You can also click Add Bookmark, set the name as you want it, then start the warp and click "OK" when you get to the right place.

thats what i do, roffer, but there still seems to be lag which forces me to hit the ok button as soon as the warp buble starts so i can at least make the bm half way toward the destination. but it's not precise and this method seems that it simply won't work if you try to intersect an opponent.
i mean, are the ones that say make a BM as soon as you see your opponent flash in your overview full of ****?

Placing BMs mid warp with a covert ops is really a pain. and considering how often you need to do it while probing it becomes a real problem.
The easiest solution would be the possibility to decide warp speed on covert ops frigates. So if you want to place a BM at a specific mid warp point you set its warpspeed to 1-2au/sec instead of the 13.4au/sec it normaly warps. This would solve all problems for me. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i tested the mid warp bookmarks with a condor frigate. are you saying that bigger ships have a slower warp speed?

Correct and covert ops frigates have the fastest warpspeed in the game making them really hard to place bms with. Think your condor warps 9au/s. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Condor, like all frigates, warps at 6 AU/s.

I once saw a red flash on my overview in mid warp. I was warping between those two points iover and over again to try and catch the spot with a BM. I got bored.
The reason you can not do it is because you are travelling at incredible speeds. Meaining that from the time it first appears on your overview and the time you click OK you are a few AU away. Of course if you are very lucky you could end up near it, but still....
Also take into consideration you never warp the same, so he may be a litle over or under your plane.
