POSes are only NOW becomming "giant paperweights" and thats only because its taken 6 months for dread pilots to become common. POSes have been in game for almost a YEAR and a half and for a majority of the time they were practically invulnerable. Back before dreads were releasesed, Supremacy was one of the few to assault a armed POS with BS alone and take it down, proving it could be done. Granted we sniped it from 250+ with carb L for 18 hours straight. There were no tools to take down POSes in systems.
What caused the 9 month lag time between when cold war was released (dreads released) and the current day situation? The sheer number of skills required by a competent dread pilot to tank, do damage to the POS and even move the ship. On top of that, 1 dread didnt contribute much to POS attacks only the equivalent of ~10BS, you needed multiple pilots with multiple dreads, each costing both RL cash (in skillpoints required to fly the dread) and cost an average of 1.5-1.8 billion isk each before you see a significant time decrease.
Your asking for ALL of this to be countered by a single alt with anchoring 1/the relevant skills thats willing to spend 750 million isk to plant a tower and is logged off to be able to log on at any time and control guns. Some would argue that the logistics of fueling the POS makes up for it, but organizing the fuel for dreads, the oxygen for the cyno fields and the strongtium for siege mode is almost as equally complex.
How on earth do you propose to introduce a skillset that allows one person to counter the 6-8million (dread related skills, gunnery, tactical wpn configuration, jump drive, relevant tanking skills, cap ship training) skillpoints invested into a ship that is specifically designed with one purpose and that is to take out POSes only, but still takes multiple people to do it in a resonable amount of time.
POS attacking by 5 Dreads reduces the time to take the POS into hardened with to a 2-3?. It took BOB ~30 mins for each large tower and that was with 20++ dreads and you wanted them to lose some dreads during the assault? The skillpoints required, isk investement and manpower investment is already vastly disproportional and your ideas will throw it further out of whack. Especially considering dreads were designed especially to take out POSes, thats like asking for 1 cruiser to stand a chance against 20 BS and to kill 1 or 2 of them before dying.
