I know im in no place to change the game drastically but im just noticing some unrealistic features. I noticed (as everyone has) armor takes up PowerGrid and CPU...now as a realistic feature this makes no sense. How much of a computer do you really need to monitor a plate of armor? and how much power does a metal scrap take up?
I realize if the PG and CPU were taken off it would be an unfair advantage to mainly amarr, so i guess you cant really fix it but isnt there some other way to make it a little bit more feasable?
(the other angus mclein stole my name ...

Hello Well u can think of it like an active armor plate, that is adapting to dmg and stuff not like a normal plate of armor that just sits there and takes the beating. Or beacuse of all thate xtra armor the ships computer needs to alocate cpu and pg to compensate in its flight path for that... ... A wise man never plays TAG with a RINO |

All armor in the game isn't actually a "plate," but instead a moving skin of advanced metals, I believe it's nanites, but I can't be sure. As such it makes sense that it would take extra ship energy to hold additional armor onto the ship.

I'm a bit more impressed that a 1600mm plate adds a fixed amount of hit points. Would be much more interesting if there were three sizes of plate that didn't take PG nor CPU, but that added % hit points while increasing % weight and/or decreasing % velocity. You know, like:
(50mm and 100mm) 200mm: adds 20% armour (200mm and 400mm) 400mm: adds 40% armour and 10% mass (800mm and 1600mm) 800mm: adds 60% armour and 20% mass
Paranthesis just tell you what plates I think should be "converted" into the new ones. New sig coming soonÖ Drone musing (MC-boards) |

Well i guess that makes more sense...(id rather have a sitting plate taking the beating actually but oh well)

I always just assumed that the PG/CPU was to link it to the other ships armor, and to link it to the armor repairer...o.< --------------- My views do not reflect the views of my corp, or my own views. |
