You're not being ripped off. Nobody is trying to hide the fact that buying PLEX directly is a little more expensive than buying a GTC and converting it to PLEX. It's just a matter of convenience.

If you would rather save money, buy the PLEX the roundabout way through a GTC dealer.

It's not nearly the double for one. A per-month subscription sets you back $15; a per-month PLEX sets you back $17.5 GÇö that's GàÖ more, not twice as much.

And no, no-one is getting ripped off. You are entirely free to choose whatever payment scheme and related cost you want, including letting other people pay for you. If you do not have the faith (or funds) to pay a year at a time, you pick a less trusting and more costly option. If you intend to pay for someone else, there's no telling whether you'll do the same the next month or not, so you pay a bit more than the more stable and long-term option of a subscription.

No, you're not getting ripped off. PLEX gives you options, it doesn't mean you have to use it to sub your account. If I get a decent amount of gaming time I can buy my game time with isk, if I don't I can sell a PLEX and get some isk. Don't see what the problem is.

It's a clear indication, that while the PLEX cost for Brits is normal their sub price is way below average. Therefore the obvious fair way to fix things and address the OP's issue is to raise the normal subscription cost for the brits to around 12.50 -ú/month.

For the exact same reason that a greasy microwaved bacon bap on a train costs about -ú6, or a Pint costing twice as much as a normal pub when at an event. People pay for convenience (in this case, RM -> ISK) and there is nothing wrong with it. CCP is giving you a choice of ways to sub your account. They are a business after all.

If you could only use plex to renew your subscription, then I think your argument would have more substance, but as it stands, it seems like you are not realizing the simple truth, that you do not have to buy plex, so why get so angry about their prices?
