Noob-post.
There might be some obvious reason for it, but i wondered why none of you is using projectile-turrets. There was a discussion about that, with very good arguments.
http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=455752
Actually I don't have the skills to fly that piece of engineering, and yeah the most prefer the sabre. But it would be nice to here from some heretic-experts some statements about that possibility.
Thx
(I'm no native english-speaker. So plz, excuse my bad grammatic. )

There is only one bigger insult than fitting projectil weapons on an amarrian ship: Givung us amarrian pilots that particual ship.
The price often is driven by varios aspects. In case of the Heretic, its only one fact: It is ... crap. ________________ Kali 3.0 Patchnotes: Amarr Oompf!

Ok, it urned out, it was a bad idea to write "Noob-post".
What i expected to hear, were some arguments against the use of projectile-turrets on the heretic. I think there are some good arguments in this thread (above!).
Maybe, someone can tell me why this arguments don't work for the heretic.
Plz! No more: this is crap. A discussion lifes from arguments !!!
Thx to all, who attempt to answer me.

*bump*
No one flys a projectile - heretic?
I'm 169d away from a well-fitted ship, but if there is someone out there, how experienced a heretic with AC'S, please make a post!
Thx to all for your patience!

It only has 4 Turret Slots, you should be more worried about your hitpoints. Just fit it like a cheap Sabre (... and a very crappy Sabre):
MWD Med Extender EW Module (web, scram, etc) 3x Speed Mod
Fit a Bubble Launcher and then look at your cpu, its almost gone ^^ So try rockets and 200mm ACs with barrage, if youre lucky you get half the sabres dps at half the range. really worth it...
It's great to fly Khanid crap, aint it? ________________ Kali 3.0 Patchnotes: Amarr Oompf!

Alright, to keep all the Heretic setups in the same place, I'm necro'ing this to add the Khanid change info, as follows:
"Heretic (Interdictor) Hardpoints: 6 launchers (+1), 2 turrets (-2) Fitting: 230tf (+19tf), 57mw (-9mw)
Bonuses 5% bonus to rocket damage per DD level 10% bonus to explosion velocity per DD level 10% bonus to missile velocity per Interdictor level 10% Interdiction Sphere Launcher ROF per Interdictor level (no change)
The Heretic has similar bonuses to the Flycatcher, but the rockets only damage bonus and the low CPU makes rockets more suitable than standard missiles. The Explosion velocity bonus makes the Heretic better for taking down high speed targets vs. low speed, low signature radius targets for the Flycatcher. "
Anyone have any new setups? -----------

Highs: 4-5x Arbalest Standard launchers (depends on skills), Sphere Launcher, Cloak Mids: 1MN T2, Tracking Disruptor T2, Cap Recharger T2 Lows: Overdrive T2, Nanofiber T2x2 Rigs: Polycarbon x2
Does 6 m/s, so u can kill low skilled ceptor pilots relatively easy if they engage.
TIP: Drop bubble get out web range and kill their tracking. If reds start filling up, run like hell then cloak
Just pay attention cause they die easy
Best of luck. Contact me in-game if you want to compare notes.

So it's worth the higher CPU cost of standard launchers and the loss of the 25% rocket damage bonus to go with standards? I'm guessing the strat would be to (obviously) stay out of web range, so would the velocity bonused-rockets still be too short on range? -----------

Rockets work but bonus is to EM missiles...
Scrambler is an option but the bubble should work well enough. Most of the gang will have points so I prefer Tracking disruptor to go after larger targets. But again, your mileage will vary. Depends on the circumstances. If you are solo, then yes. But solo dictors tend to die alot.
Remember you will be primary to most gangs. Getting out alive is key or your gang will not be happy bunch.
Remember, you are speed tanking an expensive fragile ship that will be hard to replace in deep 0.0.

This one should work decently for fleet:
Hi 5x Rocket Launcher II 1x Arbalest Rocket Launcher I 1x Prototype Cloak 1x Bubble Launcher
Med 1x 1mn MWD II 1x Faint Warp Prohibitor (20k) 1x Medium F-9S Relogith
or
1x 1mn MWD II 1x Fleeting Web 1x Medium Shield Extender II
Low 2x Overdrive Injector II 1x Nanofiber II -

Anyone tried setups with an improved cloak II?
With an overdrive injector II you have decent cloaked speed and with a inertia stabilizer you can warp off faster. Then slap on a mwd II and you can sprint away to recloak or warp away after sphere deployment.
This way you might get away after sneaking up in a fleet fight.

I'll admit I know nothing about dictors, since I fly a Pilgrim most of the time in PvP, but I heard the sphere only takes 2-3km of travel to escape. If you drop it and run, how much of an effect are you having with the proliferation of speed setups? It seems a target webbed enough to make them virtually "stuck" in a sphere is probably doomed already, and the sphere is superfluous.
I know a dictor is a powerful thing to have in the beginning of a fight, but if I jumped into the middle of the fray I don't know if I'd be making more of a contribution than if I had brought my Harbinger or Pilgrim.
EDIT:
Quote: Rockets work but bonus is to EM missiles...
That's the bonus from the current item database entry. The Khanid Mk2 dev blog does not mention a specific damage type (see my paste a few posts up). Have you heard something more in the interim? -----------

Been out of game for a family issue but I am pretty sure EM missiles bonus will stay. If they dont, then the ship will be more useless than it already is and everyone will just fly Sabres.
Rockets on a fragile ship is a quick way to your pod, as you are too close to web range and especially since you will be called primary by any competent FC.
Also, Dictors are not really tacklers, thats why you have a bubble. Chasing fast ships in a dictor is silly, let the ceptors do that.
And solo, the ship is pretty useless as a tackler as any Sabre pilot or Crusader will shred u in seconds if you use Rockets. Thats where the Tracking Disruptor comes into play, to keep you alive and use speed to run like hell if you bite off more than you can chew.
Try it and find out on the test server. Heretic does not possess much in way of firepower anyway and the bonus is EM Missiles atm so why not use them?
Just my .02. Go out and try it and see for yourself. At least these ships are fairly cheap in empire.
Say hi to Frank*****topolis for me btw.

An interdictor sphere is 20 km in diameter so it will cost you 10 km flight time to get out, and that is a lot for a bs that is just been called primary. Also if there are several bs in there which are unable to warp away fast, a group of stealth bommers can launch bombs. I don't know if this works because the first bomb will kill the disruptor probe, but it might with the correct timing.
sigh, If only local would be removed, how fun eve would be

Here is my fitting for the Heretic. This setup has two purposes only: deploying bubbles and surviving. This is not a solo setup, others handle the tackling and dmg dealing. You can choose whether to use named versions or not. For solo i use the Sabre as everyone else.
Highs: Sphere launcher Meds: 1MN MWD I, 1xmedium shield extender I Lows: 1xDCU II, 1xEANM I, 1x400mm plate
You'll need decent support skills to fit it, it leaves me with 0.85 PG.
