My suggestion is simple:
A mining barge that is able to fit Gang Modules and perhaps is comaparable itself with the tier 2 barge in mining capabilitys but has 1 or 2 highslots that are dedicated to Gang Modules. Other then that nothing fancy.
Maybe also a t2 version of it that has further bonuses for The Mining Improvment Gang Modules.

I like this idea but it goes on the pile of ideas for some sort of mining industry capital ship. That said I do like the idea since it seems like a nice logical progression for corp-based mining directors and could be priced appropriatley. Sort of like a barge squad leader.

Perhaps on an ore controller type ship that myself and many other people have been asking for.
Still, really.. Where I am.. we pop the rocks pretty fast! So fast that we end up changing belts ever hour or so.
We don't really need faster mining speed. We need more efficiancy with the mining speeds we can get now. The ability to move the ore seems to be the short coming to me. We can mine 6 or 7 cans an hour with a single ship.. but moving those cans requires haulers... and one hauler for every one miner is not very efficient.
We really need a ship that can go into the belts and pick up 4 jet cans at once. That is, fly in, tractor beam in 4 jet cans, scoop up all their contents, and fly back to a station to empty it's self out.
Our mining barges have really surpassed our hauling abilities. We don't need faster lasers! We need faster haulers!
That's my 0.02 ISK anyway,

A hauler with 27.5km3 capacity would solve all the problems - if only we had Expanded Cargo II's to fit out Indy Mk V's. Then it would be totally unnecessary since the actual collecting is very fast (esp. with tractor beams).

so you say that a mining barge with mining capabilitys as the medium size one and with slots for the mining gang modules as well? hmmm nice idea.. altho i'd rather have a ship with more protection tho

I'd like to see a ship that can mount 2 strip miners, yet also use the mining Command moduels :) that'd be sweet

Cool idea.
Although, I think I would want a non-turret high slot for other things (rem shd bstr, rem arm bstr, etc.) A command version would still be cool.

Ok I just have to ask, what ship and fittings your using to pull in 6 or 7 cans an hour with a single ship? How are you filling a can in 8.5 minutes with one ship, thats only 3 cycles of your beams. Thats 9,000 M3 a cycle.

This is what i mean 2 strip miners and an extra 1 or 2 highslots for the gang modules or if you like tractor beam / shield transport / remote armor rep / any thing else.
Slot layout like 4 highs/(2 of the for strip miners) 4 mids 2 lows like the current elite version of the Mining Barges or 3 Highs/ (2 for strip miners) 4 mids 2 lows.
Also i think its about time for CCP to release t2 Cargo Expanders.

I have posted about before. There is no nesesery to get bigger haulers for haul ore from belts. Only what we need is get new module what can press ore in smaller amounts. lets say ORE PRESS module. If you interesting read this topic: Ore pressing

I thought that BattleCruisers were made specifically for ganging situations (like protecting miner from belt rats and using command modules).
Would kinda remove that role from BC's... ANd the Command Modules are pretty much BC restricted.
I'm iffy on this idea.

got to agree with Marcus Right and the others a biger hauler is soo needed in this game.
im waiting for Maya Rkell to tell us CCP know what they are doing and this will break the market and kill the game and indis are fine, come on were are you? ------------------------------------ fix eves industrial sector!

Okay, as you asked. I was going to give this thread a miss Rage...
But basically, use a BC as your tank, fit a gang module and PRESTO! Have another normal barge allready. Fiixed. Next!
