Sensible World of Soccer IK+ (I pwned at that. I got megahero every time) Turrican II Frontier (Lost my teenage years there) Eve Online Football Manager (various versions) NHL 2002 (before the daft card system) System Shock 2 (I never did finish that. I might have to go back to that one) Morrowind (Never finished the main quest there either) and currently... Oblivion (lvl 10 Paladin so far using a 3x training time mod)
They are pretty much my top games I've ever played

I'd like to add that as a penalty for warping out, Chowdown recieved a /heal0 from the devs, and his ship promptly exploded.

Lots of different games and genres so hard to pin down:
- Total war series got me through university, and RTW kept me sane before EVE. - Er EVE of course. - Freespace series, they blew me away. - Masters of Orion 2 was great could win in a day I loved that, MoO3 was disappointing.

anybody else noticed that many of those games are atleast 5 years old : has the gaming business lost its special touch these last years or are they to focussed on graphics? Or is it the deadlines?
For me its: Freespace 1 & 2 Diablo 2 (one of 2 games i played together with my brother) Heroes of might and magic 3 (the 2nd game) Alien Legacy (quite an unknown game but good storyline) Transport Tycoon (Oh howmany hours i spend playing this..sheesh)

I never upgraded from my 1988 Famicom tbh. The Legend of Zelda & Megaman(8bit) are still as mindlessly fun as ever.

Planescape torment had the best story of any game ever.
Half life - not only was it better than all its contemporaries in all areas (no other game can claim that) but it showed an understanding of how to use the medium of games to tell a story that has only been surpassed once, by Half life 2.
Alpha centuri, purely cos its like civ, which means it must be great, but in space!

Edited by: niko86 on 06/05/2006 21:26:59 Red Alert 2 because its just a fun RTS. Startopia because it was like Theme Hospital but with the added bonus of being in space . Half Life 2 pwns all FPS imo. Zelda Link to the Past, most memorable because it was the first zelda i played :D although all of the onces since have been brilliant. Metroid Prime never got into the snes version but on the gamecube it rocked. EVE ... of course my first and hopefully only mmo. Halo 1 ... on XBox not PC. Day of the Tenticle was just too funny Pokemon Red spent all my 6 weeks summer holiday from school playing that once. Fire Emblem on the GBA, wtfpwns advance wars which i loved before this. Mario 1 and Duck Hunt double game, the first game i played on my first console.
EDIT: forgot 1 game THE GAME > ALL OTHERS ... Deus Ex 1

Edited by: ivar R''dhak on 06/05/2006 22:57:05 OMG, basically all my favourite ones are already called out(non-console). I never used(& still don¦t) those childish consoles. Have to add: 8bit: Tempest, Bard¦s Tale 16/32bit(PC): SSI Gold Box CRPG series(Curse of the Azure Bond¦s, etc.) Baldur¦s Gate series Neverwinter Nights (2 looks very promising) But never have I played a game as long as EvE (Edit:Misspelled SSI as ISS, it¦s a wonder I¦m not dreaming EvE ) _ Mal-`Appears we got here just in a nick of time. What does that make us?¦ Zoe-¦Big damn heroes sir.¦ Mal-¦Aint we just.¦ |
