Yes, the other problems are more related to the ship & modus operandi of the setup than the blasters - they dont look easy to fix though im sure some people will proclaim some "obvious" solutions.
Looking good, step in the right direction if nothign else.
And happy birthday. ----------------

Originally by: Ithildin As such, I claim with solid basis, that the MWD is not an advantage. It is a necessity and should be taken into account for both capacitor and fitting reasons.
Even assuming something like that was to happen, the thing that worries me is that pans out across classes, cases in point their effect on the taranis (bad, its strong enough), deimos (good, being able to fit it as well as a brutix is a necessity i think) and the brutix itself (i fly one, and i think that while full ion racks with mwd & injector & dual reps would be nifty, its strong enough).
Any grid reduction would probably require a good look at the grid of all blasterships... ----------------

So, uh... are you saying the thron should get more grid, or that blasters should take less? I though you meant the latter, but now im not so sure. ----------------

Edited by: keepiru on 06/05/2006 14:29:46 Yeah, but once you compare mega w/ mwd vs. arma/poc w/out then that brings up the questions "should we fix this" and "how".
So, do you think the mega should have as much fittings leftover when fitting neutron w/ mwd compared to arma/poc w/out, and if so, how?
Im not for or against the issue as such, just wondering exactly what your stance is on this, because i feel its unclear. ----------------

Its probably a leftover from a much earlier version of eve. Think about how much weird stuff the faction bs had that only came out once they started being avaible to a decent degree - broken bonus on the rattlesnake, the ridicolous cap & fittings of the nightmare... ----------------

Like i said; am applying here the very same logic that makes people call for nerf to interceptor damage output, as this is expected to make AFs a viable combat platform (since they operate under belief AFs would be chosen for their damage, all the stupid limitations and drawbacks suddenly and magically stopping to matter) Is that a logic of a loon? You said it, and i certainly won't disagree ]:>

Originally by: j0sephine "The main issue is that due to it's craptastic range and the evolution of this game, there *is* no more worthwhile role for a <5km combat BS."
Indeed (and am being serious here for a moment) ... i've been telling it for a while now. The current model of EVE ship guns (large guns with 2x the optimal of medium guns with 2x the optimal of small guns) imo severely damages battleship-level combat on the whole. You simply no longer have the options which are available for small ship fighting, which means the large 'short range' ships are left severely handicapped, or plain out of role.
Thats all fine and dandy - and true, thorax/brutix is about the limit of viable blaster tactics - but one has to ask, whats the solution? ----------------
