This time a long deep laugh bellowed forth from TriggerÆs lips cast out onto the dark void in front of him. The eternal twists of deep space diplomacy never ceased to amuse him .The turn of events that had brought him, MASS and the alliance to the current war were another chapter on the complex web of subterfuge that had so dominated the last few years.
History in the making? He mused. Each day a new battle, a new challenge to overcome.
For we are MASS. We shall prevail.
The monitors flashed red, a Firmus Ixion counter attack on the newly captured H74 system was underway. Spinning on his heal Trigger strode to the hanger bay entrance. Smashing a mailed fist onto the door access panel it slid back to revel the busy scene beyond. A mix or MASS logistics crew mixed with the SanshaÆs station cyborgs around the majesty of Triggers Apocalypse battleship.

Deep creases crossed the dome of the typically Amarrian bald head of Trigger. The almost omnipresent CEO of the legendary M.A.S.S corporation paced back and forth as he had done a thousand times before across the ready room of his head quarters.
An array of monitors displayed flicked through random images of the fleets engaging across Stain, Catch and Querious. Warriors living and dieing for the cause that he had defined.
The thoughts dominating his mind for once were not of the endless constant wars and politics that so defined his very existence. But of the past and the phenomenal journey that had taken him and his loyal followers to this point.
Three long years ago the Ministry of Amarrian Secret Service had been formed under the mandate of the Emperor to bring order to the Stain region. Three long years that would have broken lesser men. But not him.
Honor, courage and determination. Those ideals had driven him and those around him on where others had failed. A faint hint of a smile edged from the corners of his eyes at the memory of Admiral Razzil of IGS reciting those three ideals as his battle mantra. The same core ideals underpinning the coalition of corporations that formed his closest allies in securing Stain.
Glancing back into the currently empty ready room his eyes are drawn to the rows of seats which were last filled a few weeks ago during a full corporation level briefing in preparation for the final push against the Firmus Ixion. The hunger for victory was clear among the gathered warriors. M.A.S.S had managed to hold a core of battle veterans and officers which would be the envy of any corp. Proving their worth again and again in innumerable engagements on countless battlefields across the galaxy.
Their names etched in Triggers mind, Filecop, Random, Sceartan, Psycho, Mahhy, Thebold, Kernal, Amira, Dalman, Uniqu3, Valdi, Mauxir, Trakh, Jedilover, Tirfing, Sinjin, Folko, Krendo, Dantes, Nick, Xelios, Monty, Reonà.and so many many moreà.
A pang of sadness wells from deep inside as his mind uncharacteristically drifted to those who were no longer with him, fine fighters like Zeal Dragon, Kantar, Ackath, Majin Buu, Leyla Anshley.
Warriors lost to his causeààbut never forgotten.
Turning back to the observation window he absorbed the beauty of the void beyond. Pin *****s of twinkling light breaking the infinite blackness. These long years in Stain had giving him an acute awareness of these stars. DSS, LGK, 9RQ to others were just a random assignment of letters and numbers given to the nameless systems out here on the outer rim. To Trigger and MASS these were home.
In the early years the mission was simple. Suppress and claim Stain and the surrounding regions for the people of the Amarrian empire and their allies. Historically the refuge of the last remnants of SanshaÆs Nation his men had little difficulty with the disorganized forces that were inhabiting this area of space. Ironically they seemed as eager to host MASS and allies in their run down stations as to throw themselves into suicide attacks against logistical operations of the corporation. What strange bedfellows we make, he chucked to himself.
Casting his mind back to the formation of the alliance of like minded corporations born of those days, named after the space they all shared. The first real wars came flooding back. The war against M3G4 had bonded the warriors in their first real conflict. Then the endless fights with RUS Corporation, their cunning tactics again making the allies raise to the occasion against a new foe. The pride of MASS at this time swollen by winning the Amarrian Championship and flying in Imperial Apocalypse Battleships gifted personally to them by the Emperor himself.

Soon the greatest threat that had MASS had ever faced formed in the Curse region. As the warriors of RUS joined others in forming an alliance that would forever change the face of the galaxy. The names of the Stain and Curse alliances will be eternally linked from the epic war that followed. A cacophony of emotions flood to his mind as he remembers the alliance being brought to its kneeÆs by endless war.
The invasion and counter invasion on a weekly basis. The hard times but the greatest of times. The dedication of MASS and the other corporations in the Stain alliance to pursue and destroy it opposition culminating in Operation Overload. His forces deeply embedded in the many regions of Curse space to destroy their forces and disrupt logistical operations. A year and a half of total war ending in the collapse of the enemy from both internal and external pressures.
In the months that followed the fractured Curse Alliance forces relocated both peacefully and under the barrel of the gun and the allied forces had administered a resettling of the war ravaged regions. A long sigh slipped from Triggers *****ed lips as he reflected on this time.
An empire of his own creation had been born. Spanning four claimed regions and policing another seven. He had become his own downfall. Regaled as a false Emperor, he would be renounced as a heretic by those he had been so empowered to serve when he had taken his men to claim this new land. The bitter taste of having to leave the land he had so fought to protect still salted his lips. No harder choice had he ever had to make.
The coalition of the closest corporations that had followed MASS had drifted from one conflict to the next. The fade campaign against the now disbanded G alliance, the action against the KIA corporation onto the fight in Feythabolis region, endless war ever more sharpening the skills of the loyal MASS members. Although somewhat lacking in the focus of the epic war against Curse. These were regarded as good memories by Trigger.
Somewhat more pained were the memories of the following months. The initial wars against the Firmus Ixion had brought MASS back to the regions around Stain. Endless diplomatic and military crisisÆs followed eventually leading to his affirmation that the coalition of allies needed to return to its home. Stain would once more be their battleground. Alliance fought Empire for the right to rule. Bringing old values to the new conflict much bloodshed was avoided at the same time too much was spilt.
But at this moment of rebirth the new Stain Alliance was struck a fatal blow by the combined invasion forces of the G, Iron and Razor alliances. Driving deep into the belly of Esoteria they scattered and devastated the fledgling fleets of the alliance reborn.
Casing a wizen grin to the starry abyss out the viewing window Trigger reflected on the character of the corporations of stayed by his side. The Collective, Storm Guard Elite, Intergalactic Serenity, Interstellar Exodus, Pegasus Mining and Securities, The Raven Warriors, Priory Of The Lemon. Many of which had been with him from the beginning of this journey. Soon joined by others to fight and die to their joint cause. Within days of the defeat they were hounding the attackers, rebuilding a new Stain, a more focuses force then ever before. Bound by a common home.
He had sent his warriors to aid the forces of Ascendant Frontier to prevent the G/Iron/Razor forces creating more of a bridgehead in the deep south as the alliance doggedly strengthened its hold on the Stain corridor. It was at this time, as the invading trio of alliances were being finally beaten off the present conflict was born. The Firmus Ixion without warning moving from allies against the G/Iron/Razor invasion to resuming firing on allied pilots in a matter of 24 hours.

Wow has this been 3 amazing years.. A couple of months and my 3rd year non-stop in MASS has passed.
Gone through fire and water with MASS for now almost 3 years, and I'm so ever proud to be one of the original mass members and still be at my home.
It's safe to say that many changes and turns in eve have been more or less as a direct result of actions by MASS and their enemies (especially RUS, go ronin ;)).

It has bean both a honor and a pleasure to fly with few of the most experienced and skilled pilots in EVE, not forgotting sense of black humor - and dedication we share towards, SA, towards MASS and towards papa.
Which started as a game ended as a brotherhood "kamraden" which will last even after the game is finally buried.

As others before me have said, it has been a pleasure and an honour to fly alongside some of the greatest names in Eve but more importantly, some of the greatest friends outside of Eve. We have been through thick and thin together and always managed to just keep our heads above water. It is a testoment to Trig and the crew for still enjoying what they started oh so many years ago and continuing to kick arse on a daily basis.
Here's to many more fun times ahead!
