Besides the well-known EVE Online Tranquility server there exists also Serenity, which hosts Chinese players and is operated by CCP partner TianCity.
A few days ago, on March 25, 2014, our spacebros on Serenity were drawn into a battle of epic dimensions in the system 49-U6U, even surpassing the famous Battle of B-R5RB on Tranquility which saw ships destroyed worth 11 trillion isk.
In the battle of 49-U6U we saw 26 trillion ISK in ships being destroyed; amongst them 84 Titans, 824 Dreadnaughts, numerous Carriers and Supercarriers. Incredible numbers reflecting this awesome battle! Well done, Serenity!
All the exciting details, brilliant screenshots and lots of background information are available in CCP Leeloo's blog The 49-U6U Slaughterhouse! CCP Phantom - Senior Community Representative - Volunteer Manager |

That's a lot of isk, but comparing Tranquility isk and Serenity isk is like comparing dollars and pesos. Different botting restrictions mean that isk on Serenity is worth much less and supercapitals are much easier to build. Using plex as a baseline, isk on Tranquility is worth roughly 10x what it is on Serenity.
The 49- fight did see more stuff blown up, but it doesn't even come close to B-R in terms of value destroyed. |

I wonder if there is some way to keep downtime from interrupting these battles. Both of these large battles could have been even bigger if they had been allowed to continue. A 23 hour battle is about as long as a battle can be given the current maintenance cycle, so battles have now gotten about as destructive as they can be.
To get a bigger, more destructive battle either we got to increase server performance (to reduce TiDi) or we got to have a way to bridge downtime, or we got to get rid of downtime. http://vincentoneve.wordpress.com/ |

Based on the ship losses, it looks the the chinese equivalent of the cfc won the battle. They lost 15 Titans and one supercarrier compared to 69 Titans and 38 supercarriers for their enemies.
The chinese mittens, whoever he is or group, just consolidated his / their hold on Serenity. Those clever chinese, it took people on Eve 9 plus years to stagnate null sec and ruin the game, but less than 3 for Serenity. Most people viewed Orwell's writings as a warning. The harper regime and the goons treat them as a guidebook. |

If you had checked the influence map that's linked in the Dev Blog, you would now know that PIBC took the sov in 49- at 2014-03-30. Therefore they consolidated their sov empire against their enemies.
But I wouldn't call them the CFC equivalent. For me it sounds more like they were comparable to N3PL, only that they were able to withstand their enemies.
However, while we are at it, it would be nice if CCP would publish more political informations and what's happening on Serenity. There's so less to read about, but not less interesting than stuff from Tranquility!

It's in the country botting is rooted from in the first place. What do you expect?
To make matters worse, there are jobs where people go to work, and farm gold in games. I'm not even kidding.
On topic though, from what I have heard things are taken more seriously over there. People supposedly don't pull stupid crap, and if they do things like that battle happen. Like one person pulling something silly will cause someone to sik an alliance on him. I enjoy a good session of mining. |

While this battle is certainly epic, it can't really compare to B-R5RB. The 2 servers in general are so different that nothing on one can really be compared to the other. Firstly, farmer bots. Sub a bunch of accounts and bot-mine your own titan! Titans are a dime a dozen over there on Serenity. Also, look at the sov map - there aren't exactly a lot of alliances fighting for control there. So much moon goo going in so few pockets means even more supers - this was bound to happen, and will probably keep hapening. |

You have to be a bit naive, to believe that they only have gold farming jobs in China and Korea, they have them in the US too. From what I understand, it's a better job in China, as the amount of money they could potentially earn is higher, but it is most certainly not an isolated occupation to that country.
As for saying China is the country botting is rooted from, that doesn't even make sense. Are you trying to say that botting was founded, invented, or started in China? You'd be wrong. Or are you trying to say that most bots operate from China? That'd be a bit of an absurd statement. Or are you trying to say that China is home to the most bots? That'd depend on what medium and applications you are talking about. Limited STRICTLY to online gaming? Probably. Across computer applications, again, definitely not.
As for connecting Tranquility and Serenity? Ignoring the fact that China's internet firewall policy still exists, and that they would have some things to say about this; yes. I'm sure CCP is eagre to anger their tranquility playerbase by dumping ridiculous amounts of illegitimately acquired assets, that would potentially heavily shift 0.0 political dynamics for some time. |

TL;DR - Serenity has the same game design flaws that makes null sov a stagnated mess, just like TQ, and enough botting that you can do 3X the size of the fights with 1/3rd the amount of people. And that CCP still feels like that's something to brag about. Maxim 34: If you're leaving scorch-marks, you need a bigger gun. |

The people above me who said :
1. Isk is worth less in real value there due to the rampant botting so comparing the two is dollars and pesos. 2. Talking about the China server undermines CCP's claims of "single shard". 3. "Eve Is Real - Except where reality isn't legal but botting is".
