There is something wrong with this forum. One day after Tuxford reaches any sort of accepting response on blasters from the community and we're already promoting changes to the next underdog? The cycle of boosting sure does move fast, and probably how we ended up with ten second fleet battles in the first place. Unfortunately for you, the entire post lacks something called an argument.
Everything you mentioned is a percieved imbalance, or personal dislike. Thats giving you way too much credit, because pre-emptive complaining that a Tempest pilot won't be able to use its 5th slot for ECM effectively when/if/how ECM gets nerfed is really reaching. It would be the equivalent of saying Bhaalgorns are underpowered just because we'll actually get a counter for them in the future.
You're also quick to dismiss the Megathron situation as being fixed, but if you'll read this, you'll see that very little has changed. Even in threads about real problems the senseless lobbying of Tempest pilots continue - why? And don't say I'm trying to go overboard, and how they really were fixed - I speak from the sense that cap problems will continue to persist. Regardless of the change to cap use, the injectors themselves are utter crap.
Lucky for you, a fix to that would benefit the Tempest pilots as well. Maybe you should become an Official DigitalCommunist GroupieÖ, and cheer me on as I forum Crusade for the underpowered?
Your statement about damage and tanking, the prime focus of these complains, is very laughable. Are you going to tell me that 350 dps when compared to 450 on the Megathron, at almost three times the reach is somehow wrong? Are you going to tell me that one less low slot has a bigger impact on tanking than being able to use 3000 more of your cap charges for tanking? Puh-lease. Do the math and you'll see how underpowered your tanking really is (HINT: NOT VERY).
Claiming how a Vagabond does almost as much damage, and tanks almost as hard, and flies faster than a Tempest can be described as "angrily amusing" - same goes for Deimos vs Megathron. That means your whole selling point in that paragraph is "marginal benefits suck". Isn't that just your opinion? Math works better.
Then theres the tech 2 ammo! Oh dear, how the poor projectiles drew the shortest end of the stick.. finally having focus on explosive and kinetic without resorting to the crap that is Fusion. Lets not forget how Hail fails to deliver with its 36% damage boost, roughly 16% more than any other high-damage tech 2 ammo in existance. Totally crap, says Wizie. What logic do you base this on? "Null and Void is awesomer"? Null turns ridiculously difficult to fit and cpu intensive ship like the Megathron into a slower Tempest. Void penalizes your tracking, a statistic which is pathetic even with a whole ship bonus devoted to avoiding just that. Its then simply not enough of a penalty that capacitor use must increase, causing blasters to drain enough energy per minute to power a space station.
Boy, I sure love advanced blaster ammo. Its the best thing since pumpkin pie.
As you can see I'm probably too cynical to continue without making you cry, so I will kindly go reel in disgust elsewhere. For now.
