I went through the gatecamp accidentally (!) yesterday - that's right, on Sunday evening EVE time. I set my autopilot and didn't take a look at the route as it went through EC-. I was semi-AFK, flying with autopilot in my shuttle, reading my main's corp/alliance forums as I noticed ****load of reds in my overview. A whole bunch of bubbles. And system said "EC-P8R". D'oh!
I didn't even have time to ctrl-space my shuttle to stop. But fortunately I warped away before anyone even tried to lock me. I wonder who was the idiot who put up the bubbles as they weren't set properly. The next gate had just one scout there who didn't pay attention to me and apparently the gatecampers didn't bother to chase me.
Pretty nerve-wrecking but very entertaining :)

So, are any of the corps in these large alliances accepting new members, or is it all pretty much old veterans that have been at it for a couple of years?
Most large 0.0 alliance corps have recruitment locks during war time, and minimum skillpoint counts at other times.
I live a few jumps from EC-P8R, drop me a convo when I next come on if you want and I'll put you in touch with someone.
There's no better kind of new player than one with his/her head screwed on and an interest in 0.0.
Well I'm definitely green, but I've been learning everything I can about the game and thought it was about time I start delving a little bit into learning more about the players. I'm not expecting an instant invite into some mega-corp/alliance, nor am I looking for a handout. I don't really want to rush into anything either and end up someplace that I don't fit in well.
What I am after really is to know what I should be working towards to someday have a shot at joining up with one of the more well-established organizations.

I have mind in my med barge there, as i said the place is/was empty of week day morning, but gone back to work now, so no way to know. Will have to wait to mine at 2am on the weekend or till next half term  to try again.

BoB live, claim and police three regions in the south of the map, about 60 jumps minimum away from Ec-P8r, and as such are not usually found in that system at all.

You cant get much further south than Peroid Basis...
