As a frequent reader of www.minerbumping.com - at times I like to rank James 315's recent literary achievements.
Kind of a weekly 'power ranking' of my favorite writings - if you will. Perhaps your opinions differ, but that is what forums are, after all - an efficient way to share opinions about EVE with the greater community!
I think we'll countdown in reverse order.
#5. "Who Are the Real Villains of EVE?" - Tuesday, April 1, 2014
A fearless look at the dark underbelly of the carebear community.
#4. "Second Chances" - Thursday, April 3, 2014
A sad tale of the struggles that come hand-in-hand with bot-aspirancy and a stubborn refusal to embrace The Code.
#3. "You Ripard What You Sow" - Friday, April 4, 2014
James 315 never fails to consider the silver lining of a sad situation. Even when hate and intolerance force one of our own from the community, there is always a bright side. James 315 inspires his agents with the power of positive thinking, as always!
#2. "MinerBumping Endorses Psychotic Monk and DJ FunkyBacon for CSM9" - Saturday, April 5, 2014
Here, James 315 dives into EVE Politics. Always looking ahead - he makes his opinions known about the new direction the CSM should take. More than anyone - he understands that voter participation must be encouraged! More than anyone - he understands how voter apathy leads to narrow-minded and intolerant individuals worming their way into positions of power.
And finally, the moment you all have been waiting for!
#1. "Kills of the Week" - Sunday, April 6, 2014
A recurring feature on www.minerbumping.com - and always a favorite. Here, James 315 highlights the week's noteworthy successes in the field. Agents are singled out for praise and high achievement - the fruit of their efforts rewarded through winning the admiration of their peers.
Well, that about wraps it up. I encourage everyone to read his words and learn from them.
Do you agree with these rankings? Right articles, wrong order? This is the thread to share! Thanks for your feedback, in advance.

Trying to discern which of James' blog posts is best is like discussing which is the greatest song of the Beatles, in truth there are many masterpieces each great in their own way. And unlike the Beatles all of James's posts are great, whereas I find some of Paul McCartneys efforts to be subpar on occassion. |

I totally get where you are coming from. Its almost torturous to have to leave a couple off the list.
To REALLY to do James 315 justice I would have to write a weekly 'Top 7' list. |

Like him or loath him, the writing is very good regardless.
His blog is by far the most entertaining one out there in my view and its clear from the comments section that he attracts readers from both sides of opinion on what is good play v bad play.
He certainly adds a lot to the community that helps drive content. . -á<- Argue this, not this ->-á( -í-¦ -£-û -í-¦) |

As much as I love the minerbumping page, it's been outdone in recent weeks by some of the content on Feyd (can't think of his last name)'s blog.
The story of him probing down a mission runner's Talos and killing it with a battle Venture was pure gold. And his kill-it-forward project has led to me getting active in ganking miners again. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=326497 --áPsychotic Monk for CSM! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=238931 - an idea for a new form of hybrid PVE/PVP content. It's not that it is hated, it is just that certain groups of players believe that the playstyle of another should not be allowed in what is considered a PVP only game...in their eyes. So they blog, they complain, they gank to prove that their playstyle is the only one that should exist and people who do not wish to partake in their way are considered "bot-aspirants".
The sandbox environment allows all playstyles to exist within the confines of the game...which CCP actively encourages.
Unfortunately the Code-aspirants believe that be demonising and portraying miners as being evil, it makes their "cause" more righteous.
Play the game as you see fit and enjoy what this game can offer.

That is not exactly accurate, okay maybe a little, but there are many of us that mine in null sec on a regular basis. We just understand that by doing so our ships may and very possibly will be blown to bits of space dust. We want to share the full game experience with other players who have never ventured to the darker regions of space without the protection of Concord. Besides, it is just plain fun to watch a solo miner with 8 alts try to scramble to get out of system. |

I can't speak for anyone else, but personally as a miner bumper, I don't hate high sec, I love it and want to make it a better place. I love it because I love to shoot the other people living in highsec more than I love to shoot the people in other space.
Alternative Splicing wrote:I do believe the more pertinent question is, why is minerbumping.com one of the most visited blogs? Why is it so easy to create rich content in hi-sec, but so hard to do so in other regions?
This is the real question, isn't it? I tried being a noob in highsec, and it got me hooked on EVE. Then I went looking for better experiences in lowsec and in nullsec, and found them both merely ok. Then I came back to highsec and got hooked on EVE all over again. So much content concentrated in such a small part of the game. www.everevolutionaryfront.blogspot.com
