There isnt a best. Just pick a faction you like and try to keep the stats even. Per for ship skills, mem for drones and industry, int for fittings and nav.

I'm a sucker for a good Intaki.
But really any race with good intelligence and perception will work quite well. ---

i have calculate all the skills what i would train for my alt. that means, he must fly transport ships (lvl4) freighter (lvl3) and elite barge (lvl5) and all processing skills to lvl4, industry 5mill and spaceship 2.5mill, that means i need a char with high int/mem.

As others have said, there isn't a best race. Just pick the race who's ships you like the best. I'd go with Gallente but only because I like Gallente Ships better than the rest.

If I where to start the game now and I know what I know then I would go with Caldari reason being: Limited money and long skills laying ahead. You can train for the Caldari Cruise skill and fly the Ospray. The ship is cheap and quick to learn. But if you have money already then its like everyone else said...

Am Amarr and am about to create a Mining Alt. Was wondering if Gallente Intaki would still be the prefered option today with the new bloodlines for such Char. Someone suggested Caldari Achura Monk or Stargazer. Any tips/hints will be appreciated. Thanks OSi

Gallente strengths- Best industrial, iteron V. Arguabbly the best 0.0 mining ship, The dominix Amarr strengths- Nice easy to get into indsutrial, bestower. an 8 turret battleship for mining, the apoc. Caldari strengths- Best mining cruiser out there. Minmatar strengths- If your mining turrets break, you can whip out the duct tape.

Bestowers are the biggest 'tier 1' industrial. Easy to train, and get 9700m3 or so with industrial 1, and 4 expanded cargo 1s.
The Iteron 5 is the largest Tech 1 industrial (requires indy 5 though).
The Charon (Caldari) is the largest freighter, the Fenrir the fastest.
T2 industrials, the Bustard and Crane have the highest base cargo space, and don't have to compromise tanking for cargo expanders (or nanos or stabs) since they shield tank.
Mining, the Osprey is the best mining cruiser, but until the Tier 3 battleships become available, Caldari won't have one. Apoc, Domi, Mega are all good mining battleships.
Of course, nothing stops you cross training, and if you're looking for a miner char, then you'll probably want to aim for Barges/Exhumers.
In terms of race to do this, then the stats are pretty much that of any starting character - Decent int/mem will give you refining skills, mining and astrogeology. Decent perc/will will give you frigate/industrial/transport ships/freighter/spaceship command/advanced spaceship command/mining barge.
Personally I'd go with Achura if you fancy trying out one of the new bloodlines. -- We are recruiting

With 27% local cargo expanders the best ship you can use is Amarr Impel (26643m3). But if you only have 6 local (27%) and 1 beta (25%) you have equal amount space in it and Gallente Occator (26224m3) with 6 locals. Caldari Bustard is only 22713m3 and Minmatar Mastodon only 211681m3 both with 5 locals.
If you're using just filling low slots with regular T1 expanders (low sec?) Occator is the way to go if cargo space is considered.
Local expanders: Impel 26643m3 Occator 26224m3 Bustard 22713m3 Mastodon 211681m3
T1 expanders: Occator 16872m3 Impel 15927m3 Bustard 15728m3 Mastodon 15013m3
Without expanders: Bustard 5500m3 Mastodon 5250m3 Occator 5000m3 Impel 4000m3
Also remember you'll get 900m^3 extra space for every 3000m^3 when using giant containers. Tho in these examples only time you get extra container fitted in is when using locals (7 for Bustard/Mastodon and 8 for Impel/Occator). Personally I'm going for Occator as it just rocks and Gallente T1 is best of that class.
Hopefully this helps you choose right race.
