Edited by: Splagada on 08/05/2006 22:28:00 yeah well few days ago i posted about fun experiences in 0.0 but this time i chose the wrong system :p
how to get alive out of 0.0? not that i carry anything valuable, but i hate to die :p
apparently there is 2 bouncers above station i'm docked in and 3 shooters in front of it. seeing i'm from 06 and most of them are from 03 well i guess they'll find the button to shoot.
i work at complete random times, so i play at complete random times! (sometimes at work ha! i dont care it's my last week here :p )
should i wait an odd time and go for it? (got the urge to try now but ugh i'm dead if i do)
or is there a super dark underground l33t secret to be able to avoid this kind of station camping? that's basically the point of this post, halp lol
on a lighter note i'm 45 days old and celebrate right now my 100th jump alone in 0.0 :D
i would sooooooooo join one of those 0.0 alliances if i didnt have to leave my corp :( those helped me so much i'd feel like a backstabber to leave them... eh loyalty isnt a skill, it's a handicap :p -

People have trouble getting the things out there, why do you want to bring it back in, leave it there for later or sell it to someone having trouble getting one out.

If you speak to the people that occupy the space before you head out there they will generally be helpful and advise you on the situation. If you're out there and then ask for their help, you're not going to get much help. --- Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail. - Emerson |

hm that's an idea actually, but insurance costed me a bunch. should i shuttle my way out and sell my godly original only loved uber l33t rocking first-born (add random adjectives after) Tempest ??
tempest for 130M sells in 0.0 ?
grah all the fitting :( collected BS fitting items since day one eheh
edit 2 : replying to Hllaxiu
yeah well i just sneaked in, didnt say much in local, i try to be polite but i know i'm sometimes annoying (i type too fast and play too much after parties/whatever involves drinking, so not in the best brain state)
apparently it's to give me a lesson or something, well i can understand they want to clear their system from a 45 days newbie if they want to claim they "own this space" :D
but getting there was as easy as paris hilton :D -

There's a fortunecookie note for you right there, only bring and fit what you can afford to lose in 0.0, consider it lost the moment you jump into 0.0. This is especially true if not affiliated.

Originally, I would have said to fit it with stabs and nanofibres or something stupid like that but recently I've realised that the best defence is a good offence (also tank :D). When i brought my Dominix down to 0.0, I fitted it with a full combat setup and had an alt scout the way. The scout was so that I didn't run into gatecamps or something that was too much for me to handle. Of course, I have instas so if you don't you may want to either purchase a set or try it at an off-peak time like just before/after downtime.

my setup is all tank, well it's basic but really the best you can do for my skills
but eh i tend to warp away from fights, i prefer to be alive than to get a kill... i think i am a newbie, AND a carebear -

Before or after downtime, log in before they do or after they logged out. For extra security get an alt in to scout.

If they're camping the station, sell the battleship and fly out in a shuttle. ________________________________________________

Why on earth would he pay to leave? They WANT him to be not there, so there's no way he's going to pay them for the right to be not there. ________________________________________________

Edited by: Splagada on 09/05/2006 01:22:47 well that was my best fun in all my short time in Eve lol, but i died!
undocked, raced to the station (yay for no bookmarks)
microwarpdrive saved my arse a first time, could hit the gate before i was on hull (armor tank).
warped to a gas cloud planet thingie (i put all in overview so i get pages and pages of useless stuff to align/warp to). stay there for a while, i repair etc while flying to the planet (so i'm at 300km+ range from anything)
Then warped to the second system, notice this guy who disappeared but stays in local at the gate... ok bad stuff coming after
i switch off autopilot (eh!) warp in, stay cloaked(postgate thingie), and see the camp. luckily enough no bubble and a planet right aligned. i align, luckily more they're all with slow targeting ships
i come to the gate and poof here they all come
i come to the gate but died a second before i was in jump range. bah ! bumped into a frozen corpse on the way lol
now in a pod but safe... still in 0.0 tho lol...
lost everything, but had a second platinum VIP ubercard from insurance company!

Try hitting 10mil SP before picking up Caldari BS or torps/cruise missiles.

Hah, that's nothing, try being at around 24.5mil SPs and still only be able to really fly frigs/AFs/cruisers of 1 race. It might sound stupid to have a relative large amount of SPs and not even being able to properly fly a BS or so, but I know what I'm training for, and I want to have the support skills at level 5 before I start training up for teh good stuff :)

I've never driven a BS but if I was in your shoes I would login right after DT, fit all the lows with stabs, fit MWD in mid (if you don't have instas, if you do then dont fit MWD), fit shield extenders in the mid slots to absort more damage and to save the low slots for stabs.
Basically set autopilot to the closest lowsec system and make a run for it. MWD each gate.
Either that or you can repackage and sell your ship. Check prices and availability in your area, and sell for similar or lower. Do the same for fittings.
Worst case scenario, you are insured and have low SP so you will only lose a few dozen mil if you get killed and podded.
This illustrates the golden rule. Fly only what you can afford to lose, because you will lose it.

That was some ****ty judgement. Learn to use the scanner before you head out into 0.0, use the map or in best possible case, a scout. Oh, and yes, flying a BS (especially a tempest) with 2 mil sp (most of which should be in learning anyway) is another bad call. --------------- VIP member of the [23]

lol, I was in a Raven loaded with torps (yes I could use cruise =x) at 1.5m SP, making hundreds of millions in 0.0. ^_^ (at about a month and a half into the game)
I am now staring at my iskies with nothing to spend it on, and months away from a new ship. =x (currently at 2.5m SP)

I'm in this exact same position, same amount of SP, i'm still 28 days until i can fly covops (not well)..

Edited by: DrLogan on 09/05/2006 04:19:36 I want to get a HAC (a dreadnought would be nice, but that is a good 7-8 months away for everything), but the thought of going back to heavy launchers (or training rail gun skills up a **** load) disgust me tbh.

definately sir, i discovered that while i sucked at correctly flying a BS (skills), my 2 million sp was ok for battlecruiser there i can really make a nice fitting (well better than for my BS eheh)

To all the whiners...
Splagada is getting out and there and doing it and having fun He's done what a huge amount of players never do...have the balls to try 0.0. He hasnt lost much as his ship was fully insured and from the tone of his posts he's having fun..cant say fairer than that.
Best of luck Splagada, enjoy your explorations
