Originally by: Oro Masut Edited by: Oro Masut on 10/05/2006 06:22:29 It is absolutely possible. 2 ways, both work, one depends a bit on your luck.
1) The Path of Luck - Since he has to save as much momey as possible, make him Amarr, start out with Frig 4. First ship you buy is a Executioner. This little bish can handle 2 x 90k cruiser easily, even with low skills. Once he has enough money, he should get a Punisher. He has to head out into 0.4 and 0.3 and rat as hell, trying to have luck on rare spawns and rare loot. But if he works this for the whole 14 days, it should get the job done.
PROS : With a bit o' luck, fast money, lots of fun, interesting, very good learning for basic combat tactics and low-sec mechanics.
CONS : With no luck, he will get podded alot, become frustrated, has no rares = low isk
2) The Constant Path - Start out with Frig 4, i suggest an Amarr too, b/c if i remember correctly, the Bestower has the largest Industrial Cargo for Indy 2. Start training towards Industrial and Trading skills and T R A D E.....alot. Take your time and make use of the marketplace settings and mechanics to work out short, safe and profitable trading routes. Don't waste any money on expensive modules, train and use only Afterburners, Overdrive Injector, Cargo Expander. For 14 days, the cheap stuff is more than enough.
PROS : Pretty constant isk, safe
CONS : Boring ;-) ...but hey, it is labour for him to support his account...so get over it
Trial accounts can't train for Industrials :( ----- Lighten up a little bit. It's only the end of the world. |

^ you don't have to, you can go straight from a trial account and then buy a GTC with ISK to activate it properly.
Is this true? It seems odd that CCP would let you off of the activation fee, especially since the trial account info says that you need to activate the account to continue playing.
Can anyone confirm this? ----- Lighten up a little bit. It's only the end of the world. |

well, if his parents are rich and can spend a lot without looking twice, he can buy more GTC's than he needs and sell those. There's your 100M in one day.
Alternatively, you can join an alliance, have him train for a hauler (after the trial period) and help with alliance or single dude mining ops. For instance, i can mine about 40-60M with two chars in 2 hours. If you haul for me i can give you 20-30%.
I'm not even mining in an exhumer yet, just apocs, in 0.0 (mining magma merco).

travel to 0.0 i.e. Stain or geminate loot containers or loot in systems where theres level 4 agents, stick bookmarks in escrow in popular market hubs and sell as BS's. Steal from macro miners, ransom miners in high sec.

Yea it's possible. He could probably beg for ISK and make 500 million in 14 days.

Definitely possible in Empire, I know of one person that made a ton of ISK. It did require a bunch of upfront ISK, and he did not do one single mission or mine one single roid.

With a decent level three agent, 2-3 million per mission (bounties, loot, and bonus), level one mission would be 100k-300k.
0.0 about 20 million per four hours if the rats are playing.
The best bet would be....
Just how good of a friend are you? between the two of you can you not raise $15 a month?
I dont think he is going to be able to do it on his own at all. Just getting a good agent will take 5-7 days or hard playing.
Dont mind me I am just trying to catch up to DS and HK on the boards.... |

The activation cost is -30 days from the timecard.

The problem with agent missions on the 14-day account is that he won't have time to train both Connections and his combat kills so he really won't be able to get to level 3s as he'll have to raise faction manually. If he starts by raising Connections he won't have the ship skills to do L2's anyways. A Catch-22.

It depends what your friend is good at. Me personally, I can't trade at all because I suck at it. Mining is definitely a way and ratting is definitely a way, as well as scamming .
I would suggest low sec ratting as it gives you low sec skills and combat experience (even if it is against npcs).
