Still got a couple days to go on one character and one finished a few hours ago. I intentionally left a 8 hour skill in knowing full well it would finish before the servers came back up.
Didn't really care, not so anal that a few lost hours is going to ruin my life or anything and I get to fly my new ship as soon as I get in instead of 8 hours later.

I definitely missed the boat. I mean my brain mustv'e been out to lunch for several days. My skill finished training 2 hours after DT started for this. So by the time I can actually log in again I will have been not training for a whole freaking day.

if it makes you all feel better, ive got a friend whos skill finished ten minutes before DT, forgot to log in, and has now gone to work for the day :D

The evening before the downtime i set Amarr BS 5 to train, 40 days and change to do that one.

I thought i fogot to set a skill and when the server came back up, I was pleasantly surprised to see I was still training! Wohoo! Gods! I love me.

5 day skill here, set wednesday night...
Of course in my short time in this game, I've lost 12+ hrs of training that I can recount...not due to any downtime/server outages...just plain stupidity on my part.
It all evens out in the end.

I got you all beat.
I was in the middle of hauling some stuff for my mining alt, clicked on the skills tab to start a 6-day train, when my DSL died. This happened about 2 hours before the scheduled downtime.
Not only did I not set a skill to train, but both my clients are now hanging out somewhere in the middle of nowhere.
Luckily, the second account was still training Astrogeology to 5, so no worries there. It was the main account that I lost about 26 hours on.... *sigh*
Of course, from now on, I'll be setting a week-long train two or 3 days before downtime, just so that this doesn't happen again.
