I'm trying to play EVE on a notebook computer that doesn't have a mouse, but rather one of those little pads. The only thing I am missing is the trackwheel on the mouse that I would use to zoom in and out of the camera angle.
I noticed I can use either Ctrl-Z or Ctrl-Shift-Z to zoom, or use the little "+" and "-" icons to zoom but it is only done in very large increments compared to the trackwheel. Is there a way of simulating the incremental zoom of the trackwheel without having one?
Thanks. |

Does pressing both mouse buttons, and dragging mouse towards--away from you still produce zoom function?

Yes it does.
To the OP that's your best bet for easy zooming, most laptops do have 2 mouse buttons on them :) -------- Zhainius Lt. Commander ISD Team STAR: Support, Training, and Resources |

I play on my notebook when I'm at work. I have a wireless logitech mouse that has a key to plug into a USB port. You can find them really cheap anywhere. I got mine for about $25. If pressing ctrl-z bugs you, look into it. $25 is not that steep.

Aye I would recommend a usb optical mouse, with all the buttons you want. It's not that expensive, and will save wear and tear on the touchpad. Mouse = replaceable and cheap. Touchpad...well not as easy to replace and not that easy to obtain replacement.

I would too, my laptop has a "virtual" scroller that doesn't work at all within eve, I either use a laptop mouse or just avoid situations where I need to zoom.
