I would like to see an option on the forums where alts posts can be filtered out, but until that happnes i would like to set up a petition to stop people replying to alt posts, no matter how inflamatory, retarded or smack worthy they may be.

Its been mentioned and talked over endlessly. But think it through a bit.
It's going to be a bit harder then banning all the peeps in newbie corp from posting here.
We do that and ex exclude a chunk of the population from posting in this forum. Many who are in those corps for their own reasons. Some whom have been there for a long while.
Sure enough some people say, fine we can cope with that if we can get a flame free forum. Free from smacky 1 day old characters ruining free speech and constructive (or even destructive ) discussion.
But what would happen next....
Would that same "flamebait/troll/smackgenerator" alt be accused of being an alt when they were in a corp of their own making. It's pretty easy just to make a corp to hold your board alt to give a little credibitiy to your flame.
Should we ban all 1 - 5 corp member players posting too to cover these types of alts?
I'm currently in a corp of two people and I certainly would resent having my ability to chip into topics from time to time removed.
So what else can we try? New forum areas maybe?
Where only people from alliances can post but everyone can read?
That would possibly allow alliances to duke it out on the boards while knowing EXACTLY which comment was coming from which power block.
Show peoples alts on the forums?
Kinda takes away the joy of having 3 personalities on your account, which is a good game feature. Why sacrifice your alts annomity just because some idiots like to post crap on one area of the out of game forums.
More forum modding?
The ones we have got do a hard damn job. Maybe more cover may help, as actually reading everything that goes on here must take ages. The more peeps who play, the more that post, hopefully the forum mod "golden ratio" can be/has been found. A balance of free speach (very important), civil tones and adherence to a well setup guidelines is how this should ideally work.
Personally i wouldnt sign up for banning alt posting. Cos frankly one mans alt is another mans main......err...yeah you know what i mean.
I might sign up for another alliance posting only board cos it may spur more in depth debate (always good to read).
I would sign up for more mod powers and longer bans for bad spammers.
Best Regards,
Taurequis

I'm not asking peeps to do that. What i'm saying is i would like people to stop replying to them, and if they see an alt post, just move on.If these people dont get the attention they crave they will mainly go away.

If we don't reply to you will you go away?
If you follow your own advice you won't see any problem will you?

Well I disagree entirely. There is no valid reason why a person cannot protect their identity, it is done and accepted in rl so why not on eve. A lot of truth can be gleaned from anonymous sources, which could be of vital importance or merely interesting to know. We wouldn't want to stop freedom of speech and worthy news now would we. If an alt has something needed to be said then they will say it whether or not it is replied to. Why does it worry you so much anyway, don't you like the truth to be revealed?

- Alt posting is never interesting because any decent information must be backed by creadible people.
- Alt posting is a method to dislocate ones self from any responsibility. This is dangerous because people can avoid community led justice that a concord fleet could never impose.
- Alt posting destroyes the legitimacy of new players that are seen in 0.0 as spy's in need of cleansing (sorry state of affares really) not helpfull to the game.
Final word: Alts need to be trackable, like an extra tab on charater info displaying family history.

'Alts' can post as mains can, don't try to impose your moronic ideas on everybody else.
Also, 2nd accounts are not alts, technically, and those could not be filtered or should they.
In addition, GM's, etc are, technically, posting on alts as they refer to their unknown characters as 'mains' - want to filter them too?
Lastly, how does this topic fit in the forum section 'Corporation, Alliance, and Organization Discussions'?
Moron..

Hey, signing the impossible doesn't mean you're nuts right ?
Right ?
Signed, but I know it'll never happen anyway. Instead, mods should simply make known that altposts mean that the posting account gets 3 warnings before a permaban instead of the usual ten. Maybe that would help a bit.
Oh, and no trial corp players on any forums but the Q&A ofc.
