Has anyone ever tried a setup of a deimos with rails? i know it is better with blasters, as that is to common feeling, but it has 2 5% damage bonus's and a 5% falloff. Not including the mwd bonus.
Reason i am saying this, as the mwd would be useless in deadspace.
Was just wondering if an Afterburner with rails is a feasible setup?
If anyone has any setups with rails, pls could they post them. Thanks a lot.

I've only seen a Deimos with rails once, but it was in PvP lol :)
I've never flown a HAC personally, but rails would probably use up too much of your PG to make the rest of your fitting of much use. If you want railguns, your best bet is to get an Eagle and fight at 120km or so. _________________________________________ 2005.01.17 22:04:22 combat Chackle [PUSY] perfectly runs from you, wrecking for 1500 cowardice. |

Problem is it gets very vulnerable at the range rails have.
Sayyou go with 5 200mm II's for example. You'd do good damage for the crappy guns you've got, but in pvp against a BS you;d get wiped at the range they operate at because the bs guns can hit you there when they can't at the idiotically small optimal of blasters.

in PvE it should work afterall rats are dumb, can't hit a barn, and you know their dmg types, but I wouldn't want to take it into pvp ------- ugg I broke my mod'd sig

In PvP rail setups work better than blaster setups because the Deimos can't fit proper blaster setup and be quick enough in first place. As for BShips hitting you... well why do you stay in their optimal when your guns track 3 times better against a battleship than against a cruiser?
As for the actual topic :: Railgun fitting isn't optimal. The reason is simply that a Deimos is nowhere near strong enough a tank to support a ranged setup for those NPC battleships and long ranged cruisers that will be poutind you. Your best option is to fit the Deimos for close range and use it only when you know that you'll be facing the right rats. A Deimos can, for instance, complete a level four Gallente Assault (that one with several 110k cruisers and battleships outside agent station) faster than a (I assume) mediocre/low skilled Thanatos or Moros. It is _not_ a MWD bonus, and it is not a "get in range"-bonus. It is a cap-bonus, conditional at that (which means, worse than the Apoc cap-bonus).
The bonus doesn't make it any easier to get into range, it just makes a MWD-equipped Deimos suck slightly less in the cap department.

Bah rails use even more powergrid than blasters, do a lot less damage and don't have that much range.
200mm II Rail: 189 MW, track 0.03, 30km range Ion blaster II: 158 MW, track 0.14, 10km range, 50% more damage

Something else that has been used as a substitute for rails is T2 ions with NULL ammo...you get one hell of an impressive range with blasters...up to 15-20ish or so...you do a bit less damage that far out...but with skills and a deimos that spews 750 dps who cares.
They also track like an ethiopian watching a chicken run by and shred frigs btw.

The poster specifically stated about using the Deimos in deadspace. Sheesh.
In regards to rails. I personally don't know about the Deimos cause I wont buy them, but if my old Complex rax setup is anything to go by, it works fine.
Fit the highs with 250mm Rails or 200mm Rails, Mid, AB II and tracking CPU's, Low, AR II, RCU II, maybe a hardner for exp (if you need it) and some dmg mods, with some T2 drones you should do fine.
