I will assume all fitting skills but AWU to be at V, AMU to be at IV.
I will be primarily using missiles on this setup, and if somebody cares to compare the typhoon has 2/3 of the ravens firepower just from missiles, but of course it does have other advantages.
One of the first things I noticed is that the slot layout is almost identical to the megathron, except for hardpoints. This got me thinking as to how I could make a good setup to utilize the power of this ship.
Typhoon Advantages : Bigger Drone Bay [40%] Smaller Mass [1.025%] Higher Scan Resolution [21%] Smaller Size [25%] Higher Speed [20%]
4 x Cruise Missile Launcher [XT-9000] 2 x Heavy Nosferatu [Heavy 'Knave' I Energy Drain] 2 x Medium Nosferatu [Medium 'Knave' I Energy Drain]
Quite little to explain in this part of the setup. With the proposed changes the Typhoon will get a nice boost to launcher ROF making the launchers do considerable damage.
Regular Missiles : 180 DPS Furies : 215 DPS
Damage output isn't perfect, but once Nosferatu is factored in your enemy will die a quick death. Being missiles, attack range is also high, thus damage can be done before being "in range."
Using Knave Nosferatus, which are relatively inexpensive, one can drain 30 capacitor per second, enough to quickly deplete the capacitor of any battleship sized enemy that also runs modules.
1 x 100Mn MicroWarpdrive [II] 1 x Warp Scrambler [J5B Phased Prototype Warp Inhibitor] 1 x Stasis Webifier [X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator] 1 x Heavy Capacitor Booster [Heavy Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I]
This portion of the setup is taken from the "standard" megathron setup. 100Mn MWD allows you to get into range quickly, two slots are left to tackle your enemy, and a capacitor booster to ensure the user always has capacitor to run all modules.
1 x Armor Kinetic Hardener [N-Type] 1 x Armor Thermic Hardener [N-Type] 1 x Armor Explosive Hardener [N-Type] 2 x Large Armor Repairer [Accomadation] 1 x Ballistics Control Unit [II] 1 x 1600mm Reinforced Armor Plate [Rolled Tungsten]
Normally I would advocate using Adaptive Nano Membranes, but since the Typhoon has a naturally high EM resist I decided that all resists needed attention, thus using three different hardeners. Two LARs allow you to tank quite a significant bit of damage, and should run for a while through your Nosferatu and Cap Boosting. BCU increases damage output 23%, and the plate gives you a buffer to work with.
Obviously some named modules are necessary to get everything to fit properly, if you sacrife some elements, you may be able to run four heavy nosferatus.
For drones I would use the following...
5 x Heavy Drone II 5 x Medium Drone II
I don't believe you will need lights since any frig on you will be drained capless very quickly.
Discuss =)
mind putting the entire skill list required to use this set properly? i just got all the stuff i just want to make sure tht i got the skills at right lvl
I can't fit it, not enough power grid, although I've got engineering 5 and advanced weapon upgrades 5. I need a tech-1 rcu. If I fit a quad lif fueled 100MN MWD I'd still need a power-diag-2.
