Hi i personally have no problem with camping a system if it were more balanced . Why be able to let a person be afk for long periods of time with a cloaked ship in a sysytem that you cant have a real chance of finding to kill them.. Does this not go against the pvp ethos and actually make it boring for subscribing players,..After all eve is a game that depends upon subscription..
Yes you can move to another space but then again where does the pvp element go. Its no better than bot mining tbh .. All opions are welcome ..perhaps make cloaked ships use fuel ... |

Posting in (yet) another "nerf afk" cloak thread.
Op this has been kicked to death. As long as instant local exists then cloak camping will also exist. They are a reflection of each other. If not for instant local (aka like w space) then there wouldn't be an issue if someone is in your rat pocket afk. But at the same time you then become more vulnerable not less. |

Here's what I like.
WH opens into null. You jump in to have a look around. Wrecks, thanny, dommis, ishtars and machs oh my.
Fast forward 40 seconds. Wrecks are the only thing left on d-scan. The brave nullbears have all cloaked/logged/docked/huddled at a pos/jump bridge.
What is a girl to do????
I cloak up in the sytem and go mow the lawn. When I come back they have either leaned to ignore me or come here to complain about their game being ruined.
If they chose to ignore me - I sneak about and try to pick some ripe fruit. I am happy (lawn is mowed and I have a chance to play whack-a-mole)
If they stay logged/docked or are here complaining - I'm just sad and figure out what to do from there (though, the lawn is in good shape!) |

To be fair, some folks do come out and play the game. This is just an example of one eventuality. For instance, in January I might shovel the walk in lieu of mowing the lawn.
Mosty I dislike the 'obvious log off bots'.
Somewhat off topic, but not really. When is CCP gonna allow more than 1% of those allegedly bada55 0.0 anom rats to use their warp distruptors? Scramming rats will pretty much end null anom botting, which will pretty much end the 'log off bots', which will pretty much end me cloaking in your system while mowing the lawn.
OP - you want the guy to uncloak? Dress like a big juicy worm and bait him out or just fit to win and go about your business. A cloaked ship never hurt anyone. |

It may reduce quality PvE, but who cares? I get the distinct impression that's what the OP actually means. Someone squatted in his favorite ratting system and it is slightly inconvenient for care bearing.
A cloaky alt in a system is barely noticed by PvP fleets. Whether it's someone in a home system watching what we undock, or in known Titan log off systems alerting half the map that someone is on the move....there are very good reasons for putting eyes in a system--- and NEVER assume they are actually AFK.
Pretty much the only players that cloaky AFK'ers annoy are care bears. |
