When Dust 514 was still coming I was extremely excited about this addition to EVE universe. I wasn't planning to join in to Dust 514 but I was excited about what Dust 514 brings to EVE universe. Here is list of features I was excited about Dust 514 that haven't come to EVE so far.
1. Social aspect. EVE online has the most advanced IRC style chat system of any MMO games I have seen. Lots of extremely interesting discussion is going on in chat channels. I was excited about possibility of seeing even more chat than ever before when mercenaries would come in to chat channels. Now I know that Dust 514 mercenaries are rarely seen in chat channels.
2. Industry. Dust 514 was suppose to bring major upgrade to industry of EVE. So far we are waiting this to happen.
3. Transportation. Since Dust 514 mercenaries can't fly in space they need transportation. This would mean high increase in courier contracts or stuff like that. So far nothing.
4. Economy. Dust 514 mercenaries would be buying and selling stuff and bringing addition to extremely complex market system EVE has. So far we are waiting this to happen.
5. Planetary Interaction. We EVE capsuleers put up PI bases and dust 514 mercenaries could affect their existence. There could be somekind of defences we EVE players need to build to give us protection agaist Dust 514 mercenaries. I was expecting there could be huge added complexity coming to PI when mercenaries are able to attack it. So far no information about this kind of thing. Mercenaries could also be hired to defend your PI installations.
This threads headline says it. Tell here what you were excited about Dust 514 before it came out. Dreams that did not come true.

Oh man where to I start;- I compare Dust to being in a relatioship with the hot and sexy wild and crazy nyphomaniac. Yep the sex is great but most of the time you just want to strangle the *****.
1. It would be nice to have all the racial weapons and vehicles out.
2. I would like the game play to be like how it was in the E3 video... remember the one where in you could fire out of the dropships
3. Drones. Ding! Ding! Ding!
4. PVE
Dust is now where it should have been a year ago. Better late than never I guess!  |

Bigger maps, more vehicle variety.
interaction with (and implications of) Eve is assumed.
Also, specializing as a dropship pilot is barely profitable, especially considering how easy it is to be shot down...from, say, tanks. Ram-fit incubii and gorgans are pathetic though. |
