TMC article. Please find the "spin" to send your spergs to cry over.
http://themittani.com/news/brave-it-infrastructure-shut-down Okay, here's how I understand it (not speaking for BRAVE, but maybe in the know a bit more than some).
In BRAVE, the "CNM", or council of newbie management (our mini CSM because we like to try democracy and such, cause why not), elections are coming up. Draleth wanted to run, apparently expecting everyone to have forgotten how much drama he caused and embrace his "contributions" (an auth system that did nothing to keep out spies, a jabber system that was continuously down, massive drama posts and an attempt to discredit basically everyone who wasn't him or his friends) to the alliance. However (again, what I heard as of today), basically Draleth was told that he wasn't part of the "accepted candidate list" for the CNM for whatever reason. Considering that last time he didn't get his way with leadership he basically rage quit his leadership position (leading him here in the first place lol), this is more or less what I expected out of him.
"Today's sudden shutdown is likely attributed to a perceived failure on the part of of BRAVE's leadership to act reasonably and in a cooperative manner. Sources describe their behavior instead as "lording their positions over the membership and literally laughing in their faces when confronted with issues."
The "sources" is most likely... Draleth, who was well known for being one of the most aloof, unapproachable, and haughty members of leadership. Also, he basically singlehandedly prevented cooperation within BRAVE leadership until he stepped down, and after he stepped down HERO was able to organize and strike a deal that has lead to a large gain in SOV systems.
"According to Draleth, Matias replied that BRAVE's experiment in nullsec sov warfare took precedent over "leadership dysfunctionality" and that leaders within BRAVE will need to overcome their differences for the benefit of the alliance."
I don't really know if this is spin or not, but basically it reinforces the idea that Draleth refused to cooperate and overcome differences, as any leadership group has to, because... reasons?
"Despite stepping down amidst a strained relationship with BRAVE's leadership several weeks ago,"
I think this needs a bit more info. Basically, Draleth rage quit his leadership position because the rest of the BRAVE leadership refused to let him and his 2 friends create a "triumvirate" that would give them near total control of BRAVE. This, combined with the removal of his director roles (thank god for that, he could have actually done damage instead of inconveniencing all of us for ~45 minutes), most likely lead to a very stupid and ill-planned departure from the exact positions he wanted himself in. When he realized his mistake, he tried to worm his way back into leadership. After learning that he wouldn't be allowed back in (probably due to the previous drama) the events of today happened.
TL:DR, u spin me right round baby right round
