Hidden reserve means the reserve amount is not currently revealed. The purpose is that the amount for reserve is hidden, or in other words it hides the reserve. Some people like to call it a "hidden reserve".
Get it?
The true purpose of a reserve is so that people bid what they think the value of the item is and not just the reserve. It's especially useful on a site like ebay or Eve-bay where people put in their max bid and let the computer do the rest. They have less value here but they are still not pointless.

Factually correct, Mortania, but about as useful as a nerfbat when faced by the Mongol Horde
From DD's previous auctions of (probably) this BPO, he has stated he was offered 31, while saying that he is after 32, so 32 is the probable reserve
DD also has a history of having hidden reserves 1b below the buyout - meaning very few of his auctions have a forum winner
So, best case 32, worst case 39

Agreed. But, Naal is not nagging on this particular Hidden Reserve or DD's penchant for 1M below reserves, he (and others) are on their own lil crusade against hidden reserves and reserves higher than opening bids, etc. To them, I say, please go read up on RL auctions and why all of these things exist and what their "purpose" is.

This isnt a real auction however.
You will tend to get players who use hidden reserves to do a few things and generally speaking, those things are never based on why you would do it in a real auction.
1) it's used to do price checks
2) it's used as a way to "transfer" the bpo to another char saying his ingame offer was better than everyone elses and above the reserve (so they can re-auction it a few weeks later in the hopes of getting more).
So the biggest reason for a hidden reserve (on these forums) is that someone can pull the bpo.
A real auction wouldnt state when you have gone past the reserve or that one is there.. You wouldnt find that out until your the winner and your told (sorry, this isnt sold).

Dirty Deeds does this your wasting your time you can bid all you want, and unless you convo hem and show hem 40bil he will not sell it.
Most likey he got this BPO for about 1/2 the price he is selling it for, if you wait you will find a better seller.
