I am curious.
Since the ship rebalancing started many people have been saying that it has been a success and a lot more ships are viable now, however from what I have seen in both low sec and null, we still have the situation where a few ships from each class are being used primary above all the others.
I would love CCP to show some metrics about which ships are being used to see if this is true or if indeed people are using more ships then before.

Is there any particular ship in question here? I've noticed that so much of this generality is actually motivated by some particular internalized whine.
Like when Dinsdale cried so hard about the new Marauders until a dev shut him up by showing him that each and every one of them was seeing more use in every single aspect. "Verily, I have often laughed at the weaklings who thought themselves good because they had no claws."

It would be nice.
Barring CCP releasing it, the EVE killboards would have a lot of the same data, however I don't believe any of them have a function which allow kills or losses to be viewed that way. At the very least, their data would show what ships are most lost to other players. |

Not to put too fine a point on it, but do you have a source for this? While I would love to see any and all metrics from CCP, the above seems like a baseless claim with nos support provided.
From my own (limited) observations, I think the rebalancing has been an immense success. Just look at the t1 cruisers. Before the rebalancing began, no one in their right mind flew the caracal, auguror, exequror, or scythe. In addition, the t1 cruisers that were flown, such as the thorax, were vastly limited in scope. Only a moron would have fit a rail thorax before the rebalance (or medium rail anything for that matter), but now they're commonplace.
In fact, it was a rare, rare thing to find large t1 cruiser fleets anywhere before the rebalance. Now, they are commonplace in many parts of new eden. That's a huge success. |

ships used less since tiericide began: hurricane, drake
ships used more: everything else
are some ships still flown more often than others? yes, but it's a lot better than before, the meta's a lot more varied. devs'd said before that it's not practical to achieve 'perfect' balance, and that a perfect balance results in a static meta. they believe a shifting meta is more interesting |

Even if it is the case that some hulls are more popular does not mean that they are statisitically unbalanced.
But the Arby still sucks :(
If the Dragoon has a neut boners, why doesn't a larger version of what is essentially the same ship? Especially when its T2 cousins also get one?

lol but yeah there aren't any to be seen when I roam around. At best the Fleet Issue one, but that's really rare too. They nerfed it too hard. |

lol. I am not doing a dinsdale.
I am not saying it hasn't been a success, if more ships are being used then before then that is fantastic, its just that for example lets take interceptors, I see mostly Crows and Stilettos being used a lot more then others.
I see lots of Muninns and Eagles being used over other ships in their class.
Sabre's still seem to be the favourites when it comes to dictors.
However that is what I see, doesn't make it true, far from it. Everybody has there own perspective depending where they fly and who they fly with.
I know in the past CCP have released some great metrics in regards to what ships are being used in regards to PvP, I would love them to do same again.
If the rebalancing has been a success and more variety of ships are being used then ever before then why not shout about it :) |

Generally pretty good, but the Minmatar ships kinda whiffed. The Stabber is great for running away, it's probably the best T1 Cruiser for running away. So you have a PvP ship which specializes in avoiding PvP.
Love the Bellicose and T1 Logi though. |

Not that those metrics would mean much as some people are just plain stubborn and will fly the old ships because those are the ones they like and some may not even really know the changes occured |

Minmatar ships.........meh.
Everything else has been the great though.
I am happy there is more than one viable frigate in the game now.
I do dread T3 rebalance..........but hopefully that rebalance just brings more versatility in the form of subsystems.

Eve players in general are very stuck in their ways. When i first started playing, you'd get kicked from a fleet if you showed up in a Drake, or any ship that used Heavy Missiles because Heavy Missiles and Drakes were "terrible'. Two years later, every fleet was Drakes and Tengus because, surprise, Drakes and Heavy Missiles were actually really good. |

Lol, you don't even want to know how many time I have had that conversation.
I am sure with many of the Minmatar ships being Caldari'd, we will probably see one.
One can only hope.
