Yeah some stats on things would be good. Could maybe break it down into each type of space with some sort of a table with a few things like avg number of pilots and corps, avg number of kills (ship and pod), avg npc kills (with ship type), average age of pilot, as well as other info on in game variables like POS's, minerals mined, siphon units etc. As others have mentioned maybe something where is EVE going and what has been accomplished to date in regards to that vision from the company. Something on the new player training and any future advancements on that. |

I'd like to see the existing ones first. I used to be subscribed to a monthly newsletter, but then it just stopped coming. Haven't seen one for ages. Googling "eve online monthly newsletter" doesn't get me anywhere, and I can't see a link on the site anywhere to subscribe to this newsletter.
The last one I received was Aug 2011, vol.65 - clicking any of the links in it take me to an anti-spam page - http://links.mail.eveonline.com/. Clicking "View this message in a browser" just takes me to the main http://www.eveonline.com/ website.
I'm subbed to the normal news and devblogs RSS feeds from here http://community.eveonline.com/news/rss-feeds/, but others in that link haven't been updated in months.
Where is the subscription link to it?
Edit: Some stats would be good - perhaps a consistent one each month so we can see trends (or a year-by-year summary), but also a random "interesting" stat the players often don't see. Surprise us.

I don't think it should be possible for a GD thread to qualify as "thread of the month" before the "explosion." In fact, I would surmise that a thread exploding is a necessary criterion for being considered "thread of the month".  |

Well, I'm looking back at the previous newsletters and they contain the results of the CSM elections and CSM minutes, but they don't seem to mention anything about actually voting for the CSM or the CSM candidate selection process.
So how about mentioning the CSM elections, preferably before the the voting period closes?

Because people constantly complain that there isn't enough "communication" from and about the CSM.

The problem is that the stuff were really interested in, I mean, chewing-our-nails-to-the-elbows interested, is the same stuff that you won't talk about because:
a) you want to save it till fan-fest (understandably)
b) the legal/marketing team haven't approved it yet (and/or won't approve it)
c) there will be player outrage if it does/doesn't happen (depending on if its good or not!)
d) its only a half baked idea that you don't want to give the impression you have committed to
The delivery of real 'newsworthy news' is (and probably needs to be) such a delicately handled event, that the newsletter isn't the right place to do it, despite its name. So I can't think of anything that the newsletter should do differently - I think it does the best job it can given the above limitations. Its a marketing/fluff piece that has value to some (me included, I enjoy reading it), but isn't a vital read for all.

I agree with that, bring back the QEN in a new form so that it doesn't reveal anything too sensitive about CCP's business model or future plans but it does pertain to eve's industry/market and overall economy.
