EVE doesn't have levels like EQ and other similar games. We have a skill system. Any given skill can be trained as high as level 5. To train a skill higher, open your character sheet, right click on a skill and train it.

You reach level two by killing eighty pink space skulls. 
Of course, since nobody has ever been able to find any, we're all still level one.

don't listen to all them high levels in their epic ships and gear. You have to mine veldspar roids to level. But don't swap the belt when they're all exploited, wait for them to respawn!
bam, level 2 in no time. getting to level 3 however will be a real grind. gl with that

To level up, you need to get your charisma to around 30, while keeping the others as low as possible. I managed to level up to level 4 with that, and I currently have 5 Intelligence, 6 Perception, 135 Charisma, 4 Willpower, and 6 Memory

Ignore them...heh...
Levels in this game apply to the agents that give you missions...Keep with the same agent until you get bored...Then see if higher quality lvl 1 agents want to talk with you...If so, do their missions...Then, see if level 2 agents want to talk with you...If so...
etc.

talk to the dark elve in pf-3 he called "blasterthron" after finishing the quest you will lvlup and zoned to the next station to fit a new claymore sword and armor. Enjoy

it could even be as simple as "how do I train a skill to level 2?"
In which case, open character sheet, click skills tab, right click the skill you wish to train and select train to level 2...
Perhaps Intanmika will let us know what the real question was...

psst kid.. dont listen to them, i know a hack to reach lvl3 without doing much work. Get an industrial full of zydrine and mega and fly to mannar. Go to planet 3 and wait there. You will reach lvl3.

I will help you grind missions to level up, which server are you on?
Edit: On further consideration, this doesn't even sound like it applies to MMOGs, as it says how do I get to level 2 in the game, not how do I get to level 2.
In which case the answer is work your way to the end of level 1, and kill the boss.

Be careful though, it's a loadbearing boss, so you'll only have a few short minutes to escape.

Might help:
Train a skill from level 0 to level 1 by clicking on it and waiting for the time to expire in the countdown. the tiem counts down during gameplay and when you're offline. To go to level 2 in a skill repeat the process when the counter finished move to level 3 if you want. Skills max out at level 5.
For agents perform missions until you achieve a high level of standing with the corporation you are working missions for. You can check this by looking at your standings. When you have a high enough standing you can move to a level 2 agent. You can check the requirements by looking at the corps information by searching for the corporation in people and places or using the station ownershjip logo and selecting information icon at the top. Then go to agents and take a look at them all.
You can also move to higher quality agents in a given level with a higher standing... Higher quality and higher level = better agent.
If you look at levels as Frigs, cruisers, Battleships you need isk to buy the ship, and the required skills to satisfy the minimum requirements and the skills to use the modules the ship can utilize.
That's pretty much all there is in Eve for what can be considered leveling.
