FanFest 2014 is a little over a week away and it's going to be EPIC! Not only will there be roundtables, presentations, and the popular keynotes, we're having Iceland's own rising MMA star Gunnar Nelson take on 10 CCP developers in the cage! And there's a ton of other fun stuff to look forward to as well.

Unless of course, you plan on releasing all the particulars in front of a room of sycophantic null sec players at Fanfest, and then dump the blogs on the forum after that.

So last year there was no wormhole-roundtable in the scredule, it was added later. The room turned out to be way too small, as there was about 150 of us present. I see that this year we have a wh-roundtable 1&2, but they are again in the small rooms.
Are they the same roundtable and you are hoping for less people to show up at once, or are they gonna be about different things and the rooms will be too small again?
I'm fearing that the mass limits are gonna be too small either way...

Do you notice the marketing session... its about CCP marketing, not about Enablers in EVE ;)... and industry people are not economy people. Running a corp bank, running a huge order portfolio, but not doing industry @ all. When starting the questionnaire about it, I even stopped, I simply didn't know EVE industry good enough ;).

All of the repeating roundtables (Wormholes, Nullsec, Ship balancing) are going to be true repeats in the sense that we are providing two sessions so that different people can attend (since they are all such popular topics). That being said; roundtable discussions are driven by the attendees so they'll probably end up meandering in lots of directions, some of which will be repeated and some of which will not.
The Amarr and Jita rooms are the largest roundtable rooms available. Holding roundtables in the lecture halls never really works very well as it becomes very difficult to have an actual discussion in the cavernous spaces. Food for thought when releasing major changes to industry, one paragraph of numbers would of probably saved you 20 pages of back and forth responses on the 95+ page thread that is growing daily.

Last year Bettik and Greyscale were seriously sitting on the table (as the room was as full as possible and another 50+ people hanging outside) before Dolan came and moved the whole thing to the poker-area. |

There is a lot of tidbits of news about this but I might as well put it out there.
As far as the strike goes people should be contacting Icelandair about it ASAP. The "General strike" on the 30th with be an INDEFINITE shutdown of the airports, not an ongoing 5 hour morning traffic strike, if it goes through. This means NO flights will be going (or leaving) from iceland until this gets resolved.
Icelandair will not comment on the state of the flights until the morning of the 28th. I has all the eve inactivity |

Same with the Economy round table last fanfest, seem we don't have one this year? As the next expansions theme is industry, I'd say you will have alot of economy and industry talks at fanfest

1st. Semi serious question. For us poor bastards who will be working and or should be sleeping during the meat of fanfest. Where, When and are there going to be recordings of the sessions put online somewhere? You guys were excellent with uploading videos for the last NEO quickly.
Will buying the HD stream get me access to recordings faster or better quality?
2nd. Is this whole EVE of Destruction just been a 6-month training program to get Hilmar in better shape? Looks like he lost a bunch of weight in the Fanfest Brochure. |

There is a piece on the forthcoming airport strike in Iceland on 'The Mittani' blogsite. It does sound like the strike is going to be for a number of days and I get the feeling Icelandic people don't take any **** from their employers.
Anyone know what happened in Iceland with the decision to get further involved politically and/or economically with Europe? I found it amusing at the time as the populace seemed to be in favour of joining Europe whereas the Icelandic politicians seemed to be dead against it. The exact polar opposite of what has happened in most other countries where governments have cancelled referendums due to likely no votes and then undemocratically plunged themselves into the Europe debacle. |

Any chance to get them recorded? Or maybe even transmitted on stream? But at least recorded and available on YT.
So, any chance to have panels, like wh panel, available on youtube after fanfest?

Lol, NO!
IIRC CCP sold all tickets to fanfest, so its not about their "business".
Also round-tables overlap so its not like You can attend all of them, but still You may want to know what was talked about on the ones You havent chosen to attend due to other events.
So CCP pls record it, even lo quality video would be better than nothing, as long as the voice is clear. Hell, even voice recording would be nice. Read and support: Don't mess with OUR WH's What is Your stance on WH stuff? |
