FanFest 2014 is a little over a week away and it's going to be EPIC! Not only will there be roundtables, presentations, and the popular keynotes, we're having Iceland's own rising MMA star Gunnar Nelson take on 10 CCP developers in the cage! And there's a ton of other fun stuff to look forward to as well.

Aaaannnnddd.....another day passes without any of the dev blogs promised that outline the additional changes to industry.
It has been a week since the last one, and there are what, 4 to go?

Unless of course, you plan on releasing all the particulars in front of a room of sycophantic null sec players at Fanfest, and then dump the blogs on the forum after that.

Note that this time of year is littered with holidays here in Iceland, which means people haven't been at work for more than a couple of days since last blog went up.

That being said, the other blogs are going into review and should see the light of day soon.

Is there going to be a post ahead of time to let us know what will be covered on EVE TV? Would be nice to know what will be available to watch before paying.

So last year there was no wormhole-roundtable in the scredule, it was added later. The room turned out to be way too small, as there was about 150 of us present. I see that this year we have a wh-roundtable 1&2, but they are again in the small rooms.

Are they the same roundtable and you are hoping for less people to show up at once, or are they gonna be about different things and the rooms will be too small again?

I'm fearing that the mass limits are gonna be too small either way...

5. Was happy to see far more EVE panels than DUST panels (unlike last year)

As the next expansions theme is industry, I'd say you will have alot of economy and industry talks at fanfest

Do you notice the marketing session... its about CCP marketing, not about Enablers in EVE ;)... and industry people are not economy people. Running a corp bank, running a huge order portfolio, but not doing industry @ all. When starting the questionnaire about it, I even stopped, I simply didn't know EVE industry good enough ;).

All of the repeating roundtables (Wormholes, Nullsec, Ship balancing) are going to be true repeats in the sense that we are providing two sessions so that different people can attend (since they are all such popular topics). That being said; roundtable discussions are driven by the attendees so they'll probably end up meandering in lots of directions, some of which will be repeated and some of which will not.

The Amarr and Jita rooms are the largest roundtable rooms available. Holding roundtables in the lecture halls never really works very well as it becomes very difficult to have an actual discussion in the cavernous spaces.

Dude, they're a company that is in business to make money approaching a key time of the year. Taking a ton of time off right around that time doesn't sound too smart. Sure everyone gets time off, but they've got all of August to look forward to. They trot out "nobody is in the office" as an excuse for everything under the sun when they need to.

edit: and where are those devblogs? If CCP is planning to hold them until fanfest they should own up to it right now.

I'm calling this information bull****. Like almost everything else coming from ccp these days they'll cancel fanfest the Day before it starts, tell you all how sorry they are but resources are better spent elsewhere, but here's a picture of a cow, Hope you like it.. ohh and yes, we know you can only see half the cow but we didn't have time or resourses to take a proper picture.

If you're going to be bitter an cynical, at least be realistic. There's too much $ in fanfest, and hilmar loves his $ more than anything. Well, except maybe a bigass statue dedicated to his ego. If anything, this fanfest will be like the last one... no useful info, stealth devblogs about massive nerfs with no dev feedback because *fanfest*, random controversies spawned either by CCP incompetence or corruption. Same old same old.

I just read the schedule. Looks like a better set of talks etc than last year if that is possible. I'm envious of you guys that are going this year. Think I might buy the HD stream except that I will be working the Thursday, Friday, & Saturday so I wouldn't get to see much of it live I think. Grrrr.

Any chance to get them recorded? Or maybe even transmitted on stream? But at least recorded and available on YT.

Like previously, that's both short sited and appalling.

Not if your objective, like CCPs, is to encourage people to attend in person (and pay the entry fee).

I would feel bad for the attendees if the Airport Employees strike actually prevents people from attending, but I'd be thrilled for CCP to get some of their own medicine for once.
