I bought a shuttle at 4 jump away. So I went there to pick up that shuttle, but end up leaving my ship in that station. Anyway to take it with me? So I can change ship without having to come back and forward each time when I want to change ship.

1. You can buy a shuttle in every station. You can also fly every race of shuttles, so if there aren't any shuttles available from your race, you can always look for a Gallente, amarr, minmatar or caldari one.
2. Shuttles are used for that purpose, getting ships together in one place. You drop of a ship at a station 4 jumps away, you buy a shuttle, you shuttle back 4 jumps, pick up the other ship, sell the shuttle and fly to your destination again.
3. You can pick up that shuttle, and bring it to the same station. In your pod. How? Fly outside of the station, about 5km from the station, then try and dock back to that station, but just before you enter it, eject from your ship, your ship will dock, you'll stay outside in your pod.

That's what shuttles are for, buy a shuttle, fly to where you want to be, and either sell, reprocess or trash the shuttle. If there are no shuttles on market in your home station (unlikely), you can buy the bpo for about 45k and build your own, or buy a pile elsewhere, stick them in an indy and take them to your station.

Depends on the size of the original ship. If you can get the cargo hold to above 250m3, then you can repackage the shuttle and take it with you. This is only really viable on cruisers and above and even then you'll need an expanded cargo hold or 2.
Alternatively get an industrial class ship and haul packaged ships that way. This is only practical for frigates and cruisers (although for cruisers you'll need fairly hefty racial industrial skills and cargo expanders as they're 10k m3 packed).
If you can afford it and are intending to head in that direction anyway, get a freighter. The only thing you won't be able to carry then is another freighter.

2500m3 for frigate size ships 500m3 for shuttles 250m3 there is no ship that can be packaged that small

Edited by: Drizit on 18/05/2006 10:53:59 Well if a compacter can crush my car down to a 1 m3 cube, I'm sure it could do a pretty good job on a shuttle. Now you can get over 4,000 shuttles in an indy
The shuttle is pretty much a disposable ship. It costs peanuts and can either be reprocessed, sold or scrapped after use.

It will fit, packaged, in the hold of a destroyer class starship with a cargo extender if I remember correctly.
That said, it is important to the career of any pilot to learn your race based industrial starship skill. For Caldari: Industrial
The skill book and ship are pretty big investments for the early pilot however they pay themselves back nicely.
These are the ships that you use to move other ships. By the time you have a ship too large to be moved by an industrial, shuttles are chump change.

I wish you could. You can certainly buy shuttles in every system, but not every station.
Also if you repackage a frigate and haul it in another ship don't you lose the insurance on it by virtue of repackaging?
