So like, today I went shopping in Poinen, so many good things on show. I saw a player in a moa mining, so I tip toed over and had a look in his shiny aluminium container. Lots of lovely loot and much ore! So I pulled my Bestower along side, looked through the side mirror and cackled with glee as I filled my wagon.
2 Seconds later this dude targets me and lets off a couple of misiles, wham! Blam! my ship shuddered as its shields sliced away. Lucky the local law enforcement came and stopped this attempted murder. Phew!
It looked to be a steal one, get one free special today. So i looked in the container from the players dead moa and low and behold some lovely miner 2's and a 24% cargo expander!
At this point, the Local chat was flashing with rage so i clicked and read, and the most vile things immaginable were being spewed at me. It was so bad, I was like whoa, chill. Ok so i took your ore, but keep it in the game, it's only a game! Get your buddies and come hunt me, Balas is my hideaway where i stash all my stolen goods! Muhahahah!
Oh and one last thing, Secure containers exist for a reason y'know!

actually the moa dude proly got the miner2's off of his corp.
its sad and pathetic to be an ore stealer, funny story, but you don't make many friends and its the lowest of low proffesions (if you can call it that).
I suggest you change that name of yours to Lady Pathetic, or do your name some justice - sell the ore you have, equip out a good cruiser and go fight like a proper *****.
It depresses me to see fellow women let the whole side down.

everyone say use secure containers.
but it take me 10minutes to fill a giant. and when im on my own with no indy support its a lot easier to fill a standard cargo can and then make a few trips in an indy to get all of that.
but i guess there is nothing that can be done to stop them. it doesnt bother me that i loose 15minutes of mining time when a bestower walks off with my ore, wot bothers me is the principle of the matter.
i'll say it again, its sad and most pathetic.

Secures have been nerfed as well.
Can't deploy them within 5000m of an asteroid or each other. That makes putting a permanent mining operation problematic, at least.

WRONG mine secure are deployed at 1500M of the asteroid belt and it work fine !
try to jettison them next time :)

I think it was a very amusing story indeed. I, as a newbie got myself a real good laugh.
The author got a very good point. It's a game folks.

I agree. If you're going to live a life of crime, do it with style. Any fool can be an ore thief. One way to stop 'em is to mine in a lower sec area of space. That way you can shoot them 
We've had trouble with a .... person ... zipping in to take our ps loot when we're farming in .3 sec space. He got a nasty shock though when one of our corp opened fire and took him down to 1/4 shields before he warped out. Didn't get the loot.
He was warned, the corp member put a lock on him and told him what would happen if he touched any cans. He ignored it and found out we mean what we say.
Of course, mining in .3 sec space is risky on your own, and means having to use at least one turret for guns, although we usually mine as a corp and have one on guns, one running indy and the rest mining.
Why is it that when someone tells you that there are over a billion stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint somewhere, you have to touch it to make sure? |

If you don't like people telling you that you are a derelict peasant then you have a couple options;
1) quit playing eve
2) don't be a derelict peasant
CCP made this game to be a cutthroat world of nasty ppl. That's good. We need pirates and murderers. Orestealing is weak, it's what people who wish they could be a real pirate or real serial killer do. Furthermore, if you think that people are going to not tell orestealing ****ers that they are (omfg) orestealing ****ers then nothing can be done for you.
Taking everything that offends you ooc and crying about terms of use shows how weak you are.
