Doesn't anyone want to return home? to see those megalith cities that the ancient holo films talk of? Am I alone in my desire? ----------------------------------------------- "I am watching you through a camera" - Artie Ziff

I expect that the Judans have left Earth an age ago for pastures greener. But I imagine the ruins of the old cities are still there. I suppose I just feel home sick. ----------------------------------------------- "I am watching you through a camera" - Artie Ziff

..the Judas Syndrom is a slow decline in loyalites where people become more and more willing to backstab to improve THEIR positions..the Cold War if the anichent 1900's had signs of this towards the end the secondary effect is since everyone beleives theyll be attacked..militaaried build repidly..if we see the Earthlings again..theyll either be at the high point of a aggressive stance, or a stone age

I am quite interested in this group of people who claim to have an intimate knowledge of Earth. Even the best macrohistorians have great difficulties finding any information about Earth, nevermind specifics.
I even doubt our Jovian neighbours have much data on our mysterious "homeworld". For me, Earth is but a fable, for children and optimists. Neither of which applies to me.

Edited by: Rhianna Desaille on 22/09/2003 10:36:57 Interestingly enough, using my Nanoprocessor Algorythmic Grid, i ran a few test models of predicted histories for this earth system based on data i could gather from holoreels, memory chips etc. A couple of days later, a finalised prediction was made: Earth, its inhabitants and all the populations spawned from that planet, would have destroyed themselves. It seems it would have happened not long after our departure as the humans there would argue over the incidents that occured during the gates collapse. Their bickering would then lead to mass conflict. There where also several thousand other scenarios predicted, all leading to the doom of earth.
Interestingly enough, the grid also said that this prediction is partially based on the history of humanity and all that we have shown to be capable of, our own destruction.
I thought about running the test to see what it predicts roughly for our lives and our futures in eve, but i was afraid. Afraid of what it may have said...
Of course, all these results prove nothing, for if such predictions where reliable, why didnt we forsee the collapse of the gate in the first place? -----------------------------------------------

I am sorry, Kelewan-san, but I do not believe Earth ever existed. It is a metaphor like Eden or Camelot, a symbol of "better days" lost due to human weakness.
Not a day goes by when that I don't see some station-rat peddling "absolutely authentic" relics of Earth on his blanket, whether that be a seed, a burned bit of electonics, or a stack of crumbling hardcopy. You may as well quest for the Holy Grail, or collect the bones of saints.
Yearning for better times is all well and good, but I believe the better times are something we build in the here and now, not something we go looking to dig up. - - - -
I have measured and described the stars, their great and countless multitude. What man has seen their revolutions and entrances? Not even the angels see their number, yet I have recorded all their names.

We won't talk about how many cruisers I lost this weekend, nor how many nice railguns, or T2 enhancers. We're going to skip right over that. We're going to talk about my new Raven. It is like flying a small city, and the city's only export is missiles.

The Earth was destroid eons ago because of the making of an intergalatic bypass/freeway...
But then the Improbabilty drive came thus making the freeway useless..

For once I agree with a Minmatar. It could be that others decided to quarantine this universe after seeing the vile Minmatar race.

Seeing how it took us nearly 13,000 years from the collapse of the EVE Gate until rediscovering Jumpgate technology.....we should assume that the old Earth Empire is about 13,000 years more technologically advanced then any of us. If we ever re-open the EVE Gate it is my belief the Earth Empire would quickly conquer us. Our militaries would be worthless. I say destroy what is left of it just to be safe.

I actually doubt that anyone in the Eve universe would know anything about Earth and the history of it. Its 23 thousand years since they left Earth and alot of knowledge was lost in the dark time after the gate collapsed. Anything that is know would probably be wildly incorrect myths and legends. |

Halt this nonsense!!!
This Earth is just a myth invented by parable tellers with an agenda of their own.
Anyone who propagates this myth should be considered a heretic and must be subjected to the thumbscrews of the Inquisition!

Interesting hypotheses, however I find it strange that a people capable of creating the Gates would simply annihilate themselves.
I mean, did we not survive the Catastrophe? And, if the theories hold correct, we were on the newly colonised section, completely unprepared for the consequences of the Catastrophe. Yet we survived.
I believe that the citizens of Earth, or more appropriately the other side of the EVE Gate, are doing just fine. We've survived millenia without destroying one another, I'm sure the obviously intellectual people of Earth could manage the same.
Soothsayers and scientists alike, all are blinded by their methods.

data about earth is sure in the hands of the Sisters of EVE, probably truly muddled, as my family has kept records of its ancestors for millenia, as we descend from the one of the oldest families of Amarr society. But there are many such old families among amarr. Thus we have kept quite a bt of earth among our record books. And as such we know, that earth was truly advanced, because otherwise, we wouldnt be here, if no erath exists, where do we hail from. A mysterious wormhole? I dare say not. But if Earth still lives on, it will be far more advanced than us, if they were destroyed, then by a race, even mroe advanced than that. Or they just forgot how to find more asteroid belts..........
