When will the FanFest 2006 take place?
We got the info that it might be planned to take place a week or two after the Airwaves Festival in a side note on a different topic. There is a Jazz Festival in Rekjavik too among other cultural highlights, so the date isn't easy to guess.
Some people have to plan their holidays pretty early.

Just curioius as I know I WANT to go but if I knew how much it would cost (or a figure around how much) then I could start saving up some NKR's as I have always wanted to visit Iceland maybe even diving in tingvellur (I know I know it is wrong spelled).
Prices vary depending on the exact time. When the Fanfest is parallel to the Airwaves Festival or the Jazz Festival, housing and flight will cost more.

Hey, it's only since febuary that they're looking into a date for this years FanFest. They probably got a deal with Iceland Air to wait with announcing it until there are no cheap flights open.

I got two answers on a petition about the date within two days.
Both telling me the GM are into the issue and that I should log into the 'my questions' section for updates. There are no updates available yet.

Do you think it lets a community manager look good when such a thread is called back to the first page over and over and over? I don't think it would make the community manager look better to have this thread locked neither.
We have word of the FanFest probably not taking place at the same time as the Airwaves Festival early in febuary '06 and it is a month now since we heard for the second time about 'More info will be announced by the end of the week'. Hello? Anyone working in the event management team?

The package isn't offered with discounts from Germany at all.
As I wrote up there, you book and basically lost every Euro. No change in date possible, no cancellation, no nothing will bring back the money short of you getting an extra insurance and an attest from your doctor. And they do not offer extra days as they do for flights from the US.
We're gonna see what happens now. It will be interesting for sure.

To bad ccp moved out of the center a bit ... They used to have their HQ jsut a few steps from the Grand Rokk. And we'll probably miss the airwaves festival, but that depends on the finalized date.

This seems to be another week like the one announced in post #30 in this thread.
Icelandair didn't change their offer yet. It still costs as much as the Airwaves Festival package. It still doesn't include the FanFest itself.

The hotel room which will be included in the package, is it a shared deal, so you have to share the room with other people? Or is to for you alone?
The reason why I ask is when checking the rates at the Hotel Nordica Reykjavik It gave a price like 230 euro for one night at the hotel in a single room and 256 for a double...
Unless the Nordica changed their rooms, you'll have a room for two all for yourself. At least that's what they did at the FanFest04.
Their restaurant is very good, the rooms are ****, the view is nice too, either seaside or towards the inland. And they have Pizzahut right there too (If you need pizza ... but generally the quality of food in Reykjavik is very good, along with the prices)
Downside: The ccp HQ is about 40-50 minutes away on foot.
