Hi Guys,
Team Pirate Unicorns have deployed a new build to SiSi with another tranche of tooltip changes and additions to the UI.
Revisions and Reformats:
Revised NeoCom tooltips Revised Station Services tooltips Starmap tooltips improved and reformated Module tootips improved
Additions:
New HUD tooltips Entirely new overview tootips New selected item window tooltips In-space brackets listings in tooltip format Character Sheet sidebar tooltips Fitting Window tooltips Ships/Drones attributes tooltips
Some of these we have A/B tested to date. Others we have a high confidence make a positive contribution without that form of testing. We are intending to release this full set to all players in the near future. We'd very much like your feedback on these.
In addition all pre-existing 'hints' (old tooltips) have been switched to the new basic format, so any problems you encounter would be very useful to know about.
Cheers, Pirate Unicorns

What are we suppose to be seeing from this feature?
Is this in the settings window?
If in space its currently not showing up until you hold down on it long enough to get the radial menu and it closes really fast. I am just getting a flash. If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

Yeah, I probably worded that a bit obscurely.
What I meant by that is when you have a lot of bracket icons in space close together (for eg. either they are bunched up at the corner/edge of screen, or they are distant and happen to be very close to one another, like stations, planets, moons, etc) on TQ now you will get a fairly unwieldy list brackets and names that we felt could be improved on.
So on SiSi this list now appears in a tooltip, which if it goes beyond a certain number is scrollable and the entries are fully interactable with radial, right click, etc.
If you're still having problems with this let us know what you're seeing.

Liking these a lot, including the shortcut notice in the top corner.
Tooltips on the overview items are a bit redundant for things like stations / gates / planets atm; but maybe if it showed some more data it'd be pretty cool; say a tooltip on a stargate to say "Stargate to Amamake - Heimatar > Hed constellation - 0.4 security space - 3 podkills in the last 30 minutes "
(or if you want to go all out, let us pick some statistics to show here)
Station tooltips could show dockingrights / standings and so on. |

I can't even get it to appear 80% of the time o.O The time to make it appear(the few times I could actually get it to appear) seems awfully long though in comparison to how it used to be, or is that just me?
I thought I was just doing something wrong, or possibly something not fully working yet, "glad" to see though that it is simply a scaling issue. |

But is there a method to tune the delay time for the popup to appear? Or could this be a freature request? :)
I would pefer a 0 second delay myself as I care more for quick response than flasy eye candy. |

This is awesome. However, sometimes when I right-click in the item list for the context menu, the tooltip disappears. Other times it stays visible with the item I right-click highlighted. This inconsistency is a bit annoying; would be awesome if it always stayed visible with the item I right-click highlighted.
Oddly enough, when in warp, this doesn't seem to happen... the tooltip always stays visible on right-click. But out of warp it's about 50/50 whether it stays visible or disappears.

One of our UI programmers figured out why this is happening and we'll be looking at this issue. Put simply, if the right-click menu covers the 'source' bracket when it appears then this disappearing act of the list tooltip will happen.

That's not a drawback. That's a conflict driver. True but would hate to have this feature pulled after deploy because of this. The location list just needs a icon on top that of the pop out that says what it is going to happen when you select a location.

Bug reports in for missing tool tips( only show message id) in the current ships' info panel and ships fitting array.
ships insurance tool tip is miss located.
Tool tips needs an ability to adjust delay or just turn off.
Can we get a way to shrink the extra space out of the tool tip between the lines and edge and the text.
Can we get a way to change the text size.
Is the drone tool tip suppose to show more then name and value?

I think that the new tool tips waste too much space and maybe are a bit too large in general but mainly the space between lines of text and text and the border should be much smaller
I made a mockup to show what I think would look much better (left is my edited version) https://www.dropbox.com/s/dfuxcjrlxxzpzgz/2014-03-28_20-11-55%20edit.png
in some cases the text is broken over for only one word instead of making it just a little longer which wastes a lot of space https://www.dropbox.com/s/5nmp3hv9pi8pl18/2014-03-28_19-54-42.png
the shortcut here is missing its bound to control by default https://www.dropbox.com/s/w4pxiezzjoj0g5f/2014-03-28_20-40-58.png
the tooltips when hovering over something in the overview seem quite redundant since they mostly show whats on it anyway
I feel that there should be an option to only show tooltips when a key is pressed Quote CCP Fozzie: ... The days of balance and forget are over.

Most of the tooltips are nice. They did stop working after I hovered over a system in a starmap and had to restart the client to get them back.
I like how stations got separated from orbital bodies in the solar system show info window, but I don't know if it was necessary to remove them from the list when you hover over a system on the starmap. I often used the starmap to quickly scout nearby stations, agents, services and set destinations to them. Most importantly I used it to view corp offices in those stations as there is no other way to view that information remotely. Why was this removed? |

Why was the patch so big?
Looks good should get a positive response.
The last set of major tool tips bugs I had seen got fixed.
UI scaling not working with the new menu hack is still an issue.
The lost of functionality in the Overview vice old tool tips, ie allowing a column to we shrunk down but when moused over the tool tip would show the whole entry, will be the first major pain point identified in the release thread.

Hello. I don't know if this is the right place for my comment - but the tool-tips have 100% removed my ability to gather loot-spew from relic and data sites - and I can no longer profit from my expeditions.
I can not imagine a situation in which a tool-tip that only pops up on mouse-over could be better than all my information on-screen at once.
I think it looks nice, but I sincerely need a way of turning it off because I tried, but I can not play the game the way it's meant to be played under this circumstance.
Please keep up the good work, CCP. Thanks for making a great game. |

But i want to see : Aliance Corporation Ship type etc /o\
2nd of all
All items in those windows are not refreshing. When i hover on someone else Ship this popup and show for example 52km away , and it show this 52km as long you keep mouse over this ship , he is 52km away ... but still you get a scramble.

I think that new tooltips are great exept the ones shown on objects in space. Old ones were better, they were smaller, transparent and appeared instantly. I do hacking alot and now i have to wait ~1 sec before the tooltip appears on the container that i want to pull in. And every second lost after succesful hack lead to significant ISK loss. I think those tooltips should be customisable or there should be possibility to change them to old style. |
