Kitty O'Shay	Posted - 2006.05.23 01:18:00 - [1] A few days back a corpmate ransomed a hauler flown by bob8. Since then he's been hanging around one of our bases, smacktalking. He started out by dropping two small cans with a message along the lines of "I'm going to get you" outside the station. We renamed the cans with something like "love you too." (Don't remember exactly) So today I warp to the station and my screen freezes for almost 30 seconds. We it loads I see a blob of about 50+ small cans dropped right at the station exit. Unfortunatly, I didn't get a screenie, since I was docking through the lag. So, I petition, and get a response very quickly (thanks GM Guard!). Bob8 is still in the system, bragging about the "gift" he left for us. I tell him that I got him a present too, meaning the petition. Not long after, bob8 re-enters the system and has this to say: "some gift ,didnt know pirates wanted to play fairly ,oh wait thats right you dont ,i call that a form of attack calling out for game assitance .......cool " OMG I attacked him with a GM!1!one!h4x!1 Can spam is bad, and complaining about getting petitioned over doing it is a classic case of the pot calling the kettle black. If you choose to live the life of a pirate then I guess there are means of retribution. Fighting fire with fire is not the best way.. if some jerko wants to waste his time annoying you then I applaud him.. I know im about to get flamed but if I cant take down soemone with firepower then I will try to come up with something else.. much like an opportunistic player who blasts an unsuspecting miner. I know this isnt real life but I think people should take responsibility for there actions. This game does not cater to pirates or everyone would be pirates.. and how the heck does a nomadic pirate tribe keep up with a pos anyway???

There is a very, very large difference between exploiting game mechanics to create lag (which, mind you, affects anybody at the station) and using game modules to fulfill a role n the game. You take the good with the bad. pirates indeed take the good with the bad. they get criminally flagged for 15min with each attack so anyone can attack them then. if they are past the -5 mark they are so to speak constantly criminally flagged. thats alot of bad to start with. are you saying that non pirate players should be allowed to exploit and harass to the point of stalking against pirate players? if so you must be as dumb as the nutter that got nailed by the GM. nobody forces you to sign up for a pvp game, you can sit infront of your computer and play sims2 and live happily ever after. if you choose to play eve you will guaranteed be blown up at many different locations in eve at one time or another, everyone ends up being blown up now and then. just because you gets blown up all rules will be alllowed to be broken just because he blew you up in a pvp online game? hey why not ask CCP if they can give you his adress and a loaded gun instead you nutter, this is a game dont take it to serious. its supposed to be fun and not the most serious thing in your life. I enjoy the aspect of pirates in the game because it makes it dangerous fun exciting.. and yes I may follow that path but I love it when 'pirates' complain about unfair tidings in the game when they are the ones breaking the rules (so to speak) If you are wanting to follow a pvp path then someone reacts to that then that makes perfect sense its called a way for players to police the environment. If it is happening too often then maybe there are too many pirates.. Pirates I think of like thieves.. they are a hidden bunch and are not just everywhere you look but thats besides the point.. If you want to just kill people haphazardly then play counterstrike.. its a great game and takes very little thought but strategy is there and would probably keep you occupied for hours.. but I digress.. again my point is not to take away pirates but for the community to be able to control it if necessary.. and yes if a pirate becomes so dastardly then it would be very difficult for that pirate to play peacefully.. Im not condoning what this person did Im just finding it funny that 'pirates are complaining about vengence of any sort.. take your time and blow up the cans.. yes its a pain but well if you want to keep a house and your a mobster take out the cat who is leading the charge against you or move elsewhere.

Im all for hidden pirate hoardes(pos) in deep space but not in shallow sec space that hit newbies. to me those are not pirates but griefers. Griefers should get what they sow.. and it appears that the offense was on a newbie (hence all the cans)lol.. why is this guy getting near your pos to place the cans anyway this gets better the more i think about it.

The words didnt bug me, it was the fact that the paragraphs that were in that super-paragraph weren't separated via the Return key. And he's not talking about this happening at a POS, hes talking about it happening at a STATION. THIS OCCURED AT A STATION. Nowhere was a POS mentioned in this discussion whatsoever. Oh, and if I were to build a POS, I'd be ok with this bacause that many cans around means a gun battery would have whacked him. Im not condoning what this person did Im just finding it funny that 'pirates are complaining about vengence of any sort.. take your time and blow up the cans.. yes its a pain but well if you want to keep a house and your a mobster take out the cat who is leading the charge against you or move elsewhere. the thing you fail to comprehend is that the "Pirate" acted within the rules of the game while the other guy did not. it doesnt matter what profession a player has ingame they all still have to follow the outlined rules that the Devs and GM's have set. and littering a station with cans just to cause lag for a person is not allowed as it not only lags one single person it lags everyone. if the person who littered the cans instead ahd gotten his friends(if he has any) to come and camp the pirate in then he would not have been petitioned. there are no exceptions to the devs and GM's rules nomatter if you are a carebear or a serial killer. as for your comment towards me i dont care at all. i was once like you who cared to much about this and that and got agitated at little things ingame. i cured that and found fun again by masskilling a couple of thousand people in a place called aunenen. when i was satisfied with my handywork i went out and worked my sec status up again and now i basically only tries to have fun instead of worrying to much. you should try that.
