A) cladari ships do not have excessive armor. B) caldari ships are small. C) caldari ships primarily rely on shields for defense. d) caldari ships are the smallest ships in the game, but WEIGH the most. this is particularly debilitating for frigs, but can be felt at other ship class levels too.
A) As has been stated, you do not know how bulky deflector systems are, nor what density to stress tolerance (or whatever) armour plates have. Which weighs most, one kilogram feathers or one kilogram lead - all I know is that the feathers take a lot more space. B) Should be fixed. C) This is not an argument any different from A) D) Note, though, that most Caldari frigs are fully capable of fighting three times the range of any other frigate.
All of your points has nothing to do with game balance. The Caldari race should, however, be changed to suit game balance not the other way around. If this means that fluff has to give way and models changed to end this incessant and missguided reasoning, then CCP can't do it soon enough.

scorpion and raven are obviously too small, and dont get me started on the carrier..
as for the others, compare a caracal or moa to a maller, and they ARE quite larger
Listen to this man!
With regards to Carriers, though... why is it that Machariels and Freighters can use stargates when Carriers are too large? All Carriers need to have their model sized increased by a factor of 1.5 (3.375 volume increase) for consistency.

The Scorp has the distinction for being the most killed BS in the game.
Maybe because it has the ability to shut down 4-5 battleships in one go?
JUST MY SILLY THEORY.
Yes, silly isn't it? That the most dangerous ship gets shot down first. NO WAI!
Damage damge damage, it's all the kids think about these days.

I said it gets called primary, but even so ganking and destroying a Scorp is easier to do then ganking a Megathron or a Tempest, all because it has less time to react from the added damage and time to warp.
Why shouldn't it at least be able to avoid dying?
No, this is not the reason. The reason is that people have a much easier way of getting around to the thinking of "Scorpions are dangerous and bad for our ships - kill them first" so there's less f-ups when attacking Scorps. Their turn times are not very dissimilar to most of the other ships, and after they've turned nothing separates the Scorp from any other ship with regards to how fast they get into warp.
I know that fighting a properly lead enemy fleet, not even a Vindicator (33% better agility than ANY other battleship) has time to turn around and warp. New sig coming soonÖ Drone musing (MC-boards) |
