Over the past five years I would find my self asking how much of it do they carry outside the game? https://twitter.com/The_Real_Gevlon/status/463002069989736448I think this pretty much sums it up. vandalizing the monument is way overboard. These are "adults" doing this really pretty sad. I think if it is found out who the player(s) are they are vandalizing the monument the related EVE accounts should be perma ban. And as well as punished based on the countries laws of vandalism. Poor taste.
I want to just say that while many people may not like me or agree with my goals or agendas, I am a member of the EvE Community. EvE Online is a game and people who cannot understand that are the reason it is not safe for me to attend events anymore. When a person leaves the game but takes with them behaviors that aren't acceptable outside the game, this is a problem.
Example: I am an enemy of the CFC but when I encountered players who are members I treated them with respect and civility. I even made some friends in the process. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |

I think there is a lesson in all of this horribleness.
Hate is an emotion we all have but letting it take control, clouding judgment and shutting down any remote chance of rational thinking is not ok. Despite what some will say I know a great deal about emotions and feelings. I have learned which are constructive and which are counterproductive.
Hate as an emotion can literally hijack your brain and make you do stupid things, horrible things. No matter how much you dislike somebody or their ideas you should never let that devolve into hate. This isn't just me saying this either, there is a strong scientific backing to what I am saying.
EvE Online is a Game. There are plenty of people that I dislike in the context of the game but I would never wish violence upon them or their properties. I would certainly never desire to damage an art installation in efforts to spite them. This is the difference between rational thinking and blind hate.
Even if you don't agree with anything I stand for or have any appreciation for me as a player, remember that we all make EvE what it is. Every single one of us IS EvE. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |

NEONOVUS wrote:Lets add another bit During pub crawl I tried to snag one of the sweet polar beer hats (seriously did you guys tack weld those things to your skulls?) I ended up gettng my arm jammed out of socket, a submission hold, some one trying to choke me in a restraint, a rather sizable bruise on my arm and a shaved knuckle
I ended up being tracked down and apologized to by the hat defenders the next day.
So here is something that by all rights they acted as they should in defending their leader's hat and they came and managed to find and apologize to me.
And you say its normal to deface property from this?
Incidentally the airplane seats did more damage and I am currently restricted in how my back moves due to that zero g harnesses when?
Oh and the punch to the head QI got when I started switching peoples hats when they went for the flags
I think I have a thing for hats when I drink Still beat most of you though with the not having a hangover bit despite drinking more tequila than you
Yes.... those airplane seats.
I am 6'4" and have a very high sensitivity to pain, those cramped in seats where not fun. On the way back I got special seating that gave me the leg room I needed to not feel like I was being shipped as a product. I remember seeing Le Mittani Face on the plane. I said hi to him and mentioned that I was comfortable in the new seats. He gave an awkward smile and turn around facing his back to me. He does that sometimes, lol... Nyphur wrote:Visited the monument at about 6PM on the 5th to find my name and there's a bunch of scratches around it ( http://media.fyre.co/fTAYkHPlTqk6TfYP2bjL_nyphur.jpg ). It looks accidental though and it'll probably buff out, I'm just annoyed at myself for not getting a photo earlier before it was scratched up. How hard is it to scratch anodized aluminium?
Why are people so careless?
If I had attended I would have made it a point to bring a towel with me if I planned on sitting on the base. This way nothing on my person would damage said base. This is common sense to me but I guess I could see how it might not be to others. There needs to be something to better protect the monument from these kinds of abrasions. I am not wise when it comes to metals, except that I am pretty good at Eco-locating them in the dark. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |

Hello Meryl, it's been awhile. For what it is worth I do not think that you are a sociopath in real life, you just don't fit into the boxes normal people would expect you too. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |

Mr Epeen wrote:I have, in fact, been thrown through a plate glass window (door actually, but whatever). Hurt like hell. Just this side of what I'd imagine being thrown through a brick wall feels like. I recommend not fooling around near glass buildings when on a Tequila bender. Don't say you weren't warned. Mr Epeen
I have been thrown through some interesting solids but never plate glass. As I said I have a rather problematic sensitivity to pain. I cannot imagine being thrown at something like that. I am somewhat confused as to how the monument was vandalized once more. I would think that surveillance would be a priority after the first time they messed with my name.
I await my catharsis and the justice soon to come. CSM 9 Candidate Philanthropist Polymath Savant Hero |
