Hi
Using a Command ship like an Absolution for piracy is a bad idea or not?
If you are hunting in packs I would say yes solo no the cost of losing a ship to much or is it?
If Piracy is to servive the changes in combat CCP hope to bring in with Kali then command ships are gonna be a must.

They are ideal for empire piracy. Faster than a BS, and with beefy tanks so that they can endure sentry fire.
Obviously they would be stronger in groups. But even solo they should work fine. They are cheaper than hacs and most of them look better than their hac equivalents.

You can set up a tank on command ships that can tank the sentries forever.
If you are in a gang, fit 3 sensor boosters and warp disruptor(s) and you will lock people increadible fast.
If you want to solo in it, i suggest you attack everything lesser then a BS sized ships. BS might be a problem for you if they have cap drainers, so look out for that kind of situation.

They are the dogs bo**ox for everything... Speaking as an Astarte and Eos pilot, they can tank most anything 1v1 long enough to kill it... ok... not anything, but a lot.
Was testing it out earlier today and with 1 rep and an almost full rack of neutrons with a couple of damage mods I could kick the s**t out of blasterthrons and ravens.
And frankly I suggest people train up for HACS simply as a prerequisite for Command Ship. They're cheaper, tank better, do more damage, and can do gang stuff too. Though I've never fitted a gang module on mine, I'd rather have the DAMAGE!

Damnation, Absolution, Eos, Astarte all perfect for piracy. Sleipnir best for sentry tanking.

Id rather Pirate in a Commnand ship than a HAC, Command ships are about the same price + you get more isk back when they PoP and They deal/tank More Damage.

Well, the Nighthawk is a perfect tanker vs sentries. It can tank the sentries non-stop provided u have the proper skills. It dont inflict as much pain as an astarte, but it can sure do some dmg.

killed a sleipnir with a stabber and an apoc while pirating 
these ships are very good to be honest but they costs ****loads of money and sometimes it can't be helped when they blob you out of nothing with 5 ships  ( every pirate has this sometimes )
and then i would rather loose a bs then a Command Ship

why would you spend that much isk on a ship that can do the same thing for way cheaper. Like you know a cruiser, battlecruiser, or first tier battleship...

Thats why I think its worth it and any pilot that takes the time to train command ships is gonna have the experiance make enough profit to replace one that gets blobbed, I was unsure but anless the prices of HAC dropped Command ships will be my choice I think.
