Reading the lore just makes me depressed about all the stuff they don't finish and put in the game.

In any case, if you watch the introductory animation to the game, it explains that Earth was pretty much forgotten about.

Most people in New Eden have no clue about the existence if Earth at all I would suspect.

I look forward to the reopening of the wormhole to Holy Terra, and the slaughter of false prophets and puny DUST soldiers by the glorious might of the God Emperor's own Adeptes Astartes.

Or who knows, maybe the Amarr and Terrans would hit it off well, get an intergalactic bromance going on, lord knows it'd be hard to tell the difference between them.

edit: ok, beyond the B5 rip off, here is my theory:

When the EVE gate collapsed, Earth was utterly wiped out.
After so many years, New Eden developed as it did.
At some point, about fifteen years ago, someone in New Eden developed a new online game based on old Earth.
After running successful for five years, someone got it into their head to introduce WiS er I mean SIMS expansion into the game.
And here we have been the past ten years, old simulated Terrans, in some backroom server in New Eden in a game most forgot about after Wi... er I mean the SIMS expansion was released. Our reality is a lie and EVE is real!

Which is why my scenario is 1000's of years.

That episode was okay.
It was monumentally better than the season following it.

Oh pfff I don't even have that last season in my DVD collection. Even Excalibur was better, at least the Galen episodes. imo after S4, they should have flashed back to either the Minbari war or to B4 after it went back, at least for a season.

Well, there are hints to it in the lore. For example, Jamyl I is speaking to someone or speaks to a 'voice' rather, which told her, to find lost terran technology, such as the Terran Shield Inverter utilized at the Battle of Mekhios.

Her Abaddon is able to annihilate the entire elder fleet, using a shield inverter to cause their own shields to reverse-energize, collapsing into their hulls, then cascading across the entire fleet.

Mind you this is technology that the Earth-people/terrans LEFT here, before the gate closed.

Their technology, by now, would be so far ahead of us.

At any rate, at some point they will come through again, or perhaps in the latest trailer "Prophecy", we are opening a gate back home.

It would be interesting if CCP brought Earth back into the picture as another playable faction ....

Also a funny side note, the terrans were actually all space catholics, no joke, go look it up. ******* space Catholics man, and the Amarr based their religion off the fragments of what they could find from the terran religion.

Except Earth (if it survived) had tech that was far beyond our tech levels, and that was thousands of in game years ago.

And bringing Earth as a playable faction is quite possibly the least interesting option of any of the current races they could add.

I haven't payed much attention to recent lore or novels. So I have no idea what you are talking about. Last I remember from a lore standpoint was that there was no contact post collapse.

If you could link that would most helpful.

Now that I think about it, I should really get the novels.

E: Question to those that have read the novels. Is it vital to read Empyrean Age prior to reading Templar One?

It's been far over a decade, it's been 18,000 years since we've heard from Earth. The joves have been hinted as trying to contact home though..... The EVE gate is actually not the wormhole. The wormhole was simply the means to get here, after setting up camp they started to use a massive star gate to bridge the two star clusters together. Whether this gate was stand alone and they were just stupid enough to think it was a good idea to put it next to the WH, or if the gate somehow piggy backed on the WH we do not know. What we do know is that the EVE gate is still in tact..... and functional-ish but there is a massive cloud of interference. Some sort of strong pulse of electromagnetic radiation still emanating from the collapsed wormhole I think? Regardless, Templar one mentioned the joves trying to use the gate to contact home, and I can't remember the details but I think most of their expeditions did not return through the gate, and the ones that did were absolutely CCP Guard style insane.
