You Know What Really Grinds my Gears???
STABS
The 5 didn't go to destroy PA because they war dec'd us. We went to destroy them for giving the rest of eve that the use of stabs in a combat situation is acceptable and allowable.
Stabs have a purpose i understand that. personally i only use them when moving a bs from empire to a 0.0 location with a scout. Sometimes i fit close range and leroy it. Moving items (bs, items) from point a to point b with stabs is aceptable.
how ever what i consider dishonorable is the use of stabs with the intent to use them in a combat situation. Flying solo and watching as 90% of the targets that i manage to get a point on warp off gets me heated.
Hacs and stab useage. personally i blame the hac producers and the over inflated prices which cause people to wear stabs. I've always gone under the rule "if you can't afford to lose it don't use it. The mark of a good pilot is one who know's his/her ship and setup liek the back of his hand and uses intuition to manuever and out smart his enemy. But with stabs you don't have to be a good pilot you can warp in if things get hairy you warp out. TBH what is the honor in that. there is none and it's pathetic. Fit a tank or damage mods you'll live longer. Also you might get less smack from local wo you don't have to whine about people smacking you cus you are stabbed up.
CCP needs to balance the system by releasing tech II scramblers and disruptors. Also the possibility of adding a penalty for tech II stabs when they come out would be nice.
Oh and one last thing ...CCP you can have stacking penalties for modules why isn't it the same way for stabs ????? now that is truely a question that i feel should be awnsered.
PEACE OUT

Did you think of this yourself or did you copy/paste it from one of the other 753432432 topics on the subject?
I hate stabs too but I have the wisdom to know a post like this will not be well received.

I could tell this was a stab thread before I looked past the title if that's what you mean.
Stabs may be considered "dishonorable," but in a game where theft/etc. through social engineering is practiced regularly, honor isn't really given high value ________________________________________________

There's a subset of players in Eve who hew to a warrior culture. Among those guys, it makes sense to speak of honor. They have a code. That's their thing.
The thing I love best about Eve is that it has room for numerous *different* cultures and subcultures. And I find it deeply hilarious when somebody in one of those subcultures (like the OP) doesn't understand that his culture, his code, his honor, isn't widely shared outside his gaming subculture. It's culture clash, pure and simple, and I'm awed and astounded that Eve is big enough for genuine culture clashes to arise.
Ironfleet salvage ships often fit stabs. Sometimes it helps us get our salvage home. That's what we do. Honor? How much can you fit in a Badger II? And what's it worth in Jita?

Blah blah...
No, removing stabs will just lead to less fights and more blobbing.
HAC's price is set by the resellers. T2 scramblers should have a marginally longer range, T2 WCS should be 5 CPU less. That's ALL the difference.
And fine, stabs stack. Then so do scramblers. Heh.

Honor of the Warrior doesnt apply in EVE imo, EVE fuctions like reality. if you wanna fight me and pull a knife, i feel no dishonor and blasting you with 44 magnum(did i fire five or six shots?).

amazing how many ppl have to rush a thread spitting brainless oneliner, like WHINER OMG MILLIONTH THREAD..
to maya rkell, when ppl realize they dont have to fit stabs to b success in pvp, and also when ppl realize when less ppl fir stabs pvp is more fun - maybe we then see more fights?
and why would less wcs encourage blobbing?, i for would love to gor around more solo or with 1-3ppl - but thats not an option with our current opponents..
means i have a gang of 10, or mroe, and fighting those isnt much of an option for our current opponents.. - Purple Conquered The World, We the Universe.

Exactly. You go out with the intention of a strategic kill. Someone else goes out with the intention of a strategic retreat, if necessary. Oh no! You didn't kill them. Either fit for the contingency or deal with it. They out-thought you, plain and simple.
I could see whining if there were no counter, but there is. So fit what you want, don't blame others or the game for your own lack of foresight. I so often see people cite 'game mechanics' as a justification for their tactics or beliefs. Well, there you go, WCS are part of game mechanics.

Forget warrior culture, honor, and all that. Not fitting stabs just means I fight that much harder when I get caught out, and that I work that much harder to not get caught out. I agree that WCS are a crutch, and a weak one at that. I also happen to think that Warp Scramblers are a crutch, though I do understand their necessity with the current state of scanning. Hopefully the changes to the scanning system and map will help with that.

stabs do have a draw back, they use up an entire low slot, and you need more than one to take on multiple/stronger scramblers/disrupters.
Even if you can afford to lose the ship you are flying, its still a huge pain to lose it. So, if someone would rather guarantee they can warp out over putting in more modules, thats their choice.
Finally, how are you supposed to know the capabilitys of the ship you are flying, unless you can get away from situations you cannot handle? Eventually, you will know what your ship can handle, and you will be better off with modules other than stabs.
and what Sovy said, yeah, right on man.

Tech 2 stabs will not (most probably) be released, as there exists only unique t2 stab awarded to the winner of 3-rd anniversary competition.
t2 scrams/disruptors would be sweet, though...

I so tire on noobs like yourslef who think they are qualified to add their opinion about a subject they know nothing about.
WCS have PLENTY of inherent advantages their counterparts do not.
Scramblers have RANGE penalties AND CAPACITOR usage.
Nobody has a problem with players fitting them to travel or industrial ships. The problem is lamers who fit them on 'certain' pvp ships and make it self-defeating to counter them.
Maybe if you ever stop agent whoring and actually get some pvp experience you'd understand.
I won't be holding my breath though.

To OP: adapt or fail ū succeed or die trying. WCS are here to stay. either work with/around them or mine veldspar. If you cant adapt (or) think of new ship set ups (or) train to do more damage faster (or) select your targets better [less low slots = less stabs] (or) fly with a buddy to gank (or) any other of the hundreds of ways to get around WCS I suggest you start a new career as a goofy-a$$ bloodelf. If a lion is to slow to catch a gazelle he dosenĘt complain to godą he f****ng STARVES TO DEATH! STOP CRYING ABOUT WCS! ADAPT OR DIE! Angry drunk posting FTW!!
