I'm currently working on Level 2 agent missions and I'm using a Vexor. At the moment I have the following setup:
.:Hi 2x Medium Nosferatu I 2x 150mm 'Scout' I Accelerator Cannon (Antimatter S) 1x [empty slot]
.:Mid 2x Barton Reactor Capacitor Recharger I 1x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburner
.:Low 1x 800mm Reinforced Nanofiber Plates I 1x Medium 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructor I 1x Armor Kinetic Hardener I 1x Armor Thermic Hardener I
.:Drone Bay 4x Hammerhead I
I mean at the minute I can complete the Level 2 mission but not as well as I would like to. I'm no EVE expert and this is one of my crazy setups, like most of mine. So perhaps someone can suggest a better Vexor setup for Level 2 missions.
*I only have 4x Hammerheads because I don't have Drones V but I'm currently training it. **I don't have Engineering V or Electronics V but I should and it'll be the next thing on the list after Drones.

very good setup stick with it. Train drones V and drone interfacing to at least 3, thats a 80% damage bonus from what you have now (+1 medium is 20% for those about to flame me) ---------------------------

You could change the 800mm plate to 1600mm, and med armor repairer to a small one. Saves you cap, and better tank IMO. Also, why do you have an emty highslot? Stick another 150mm rail in there. Or, seeing as the Vexor doesent have the bonii for small hybrid turrets, you could use medium pulse lasers (the small "medium", theyre just called like that) instead of rails. But that depends on your gunnery skills ofc.

With only 4 drones, your DPS is going to be weak-ish. After you've got Drones V, put at least 3 levels into Drone Interfacing for the damage boost. The Vexor is all about drones.

General agreement with the others, and the setup is not bad at all.
I do like the insurance of a 1600mm plate, at least until your tanking skills are higher, but to fit it you probably need a power grid mod (reactor control) in one of the lows, so it will cost you one hardener, there's the tradeoff. I would do this and I personally would not take the suggestion above to go to a small armor repairer, I really want a medium armor repairer AND the big plate...even if the only mission you may need that much for is Human Cattle, basically I configure the Level 2 mission Vexor for Human Cattle and the rest will take care of themselves.
The empty high slot bugs me too. It is the two medium NOS that are making it impossible to have that other gun. Two medium NOS for a mission runner is maybe not so super - that sounds more like a PVP-ers setup. NPCs will give you a little cap, but the NOS has little to no effect on them. I'd carry small NOS and more guns myself. If it was for PVP, sure - NOS away.
Personally, I'd rather have a web than an afterburner in that mid slot. The web is a major win for level 2 missions. The afterburner is just a nice to have.
Everything that was said about your drone skills is right and most important.

Aren't you rather overdoing it on the cap recharge mods there, if you're using nos? And you don't have a web to complement your drones and railguns. Personally I'd lose at least one of the nos and try to get more railguns on there for damage.

- Drop the NOS. Fit 4x150mm - Drop 1 Cap recharger. Fit 1 Webber - Drop the Armor Hardeners and Fit Damage Mods (Mag Stab). Or just fit 1 Armor Hardener depending on who your fighting. - Drop the 800 and Fit a 1600 if you can.
+ Try to squeeze in a Tractor Beam.
You might want to try 2 Light + 2 Medium Drones instead of 4 Mediums.
And train your Drone skills up FAST, they make a world of difference. |

See my bio in game for skill and fitting advice. I run almost all level 3 missions in my Vexor for kicks. The Vexor is an amazing cruiser if you kit it right and have the correct skills.

Made a few changes to the setup to try and use 1600mm plates. It looks like this:
.:Hi 1x Medium Nosferatu I 4x 150mm 'Scout' I Accelerator Cannon (Antimatter S)
.:Mid 2x Barton Reactor Capacitor Recharger I 1x Y-S8 Hydrocarbon I Afterburner
.:Low 1x 1600mm Reinforced Nanofiber Plates I 1x Small Armor Repairer II 1x Armor Kinetic Hardener I 1x Armor Thermic Hardener I
.:Drone Bay 4x Hammerhead I

Currently using this Vexor setup for lvl 2 Missions:
4 x 125mm (named if possible), 1 hislot empty (nothing needed)
10mn AB, 2 x cap racharger
1600mm plate (4,5k armor), med armor rep, 2 hardener (depending on your npcs)
Dronebay is filled with whatever drones are best against the NPCs you're fighting, it really helps if you use their weak damagetypes.
I use 4 drones only cause drones 5 is still in training but the missions are appart from 2 (can't remember the name, but you have to deal with Navy Cruisers wich do a lot of damage at high ranges) extremly easy. Just launch drones and go afk, get back after a few mins and the drones are done...

with a med rep and an 800 plate and 2 nos as opposed to 1 is a better tank then a 1600 plate becasue while your nossing someone you can run the rep forever... ---------------------------

I usually stick a Drone Link Augmentor in the vexor's spare hi for extra sniping power.
