Edited by: Aeaus on 29/05/2006 00:47:14 You do not need any skills to build Battleships different from building any other T1 item, and unless I'm wrong there is no such skill.

how about this,
why can i not use the blue prints ive purchased, even tho ive put them into my corps hangar? (i figured not being able to install them myself for my own job was because a build slot wasnt publicly available, but is to my corp)
ive noticed that mine, having a 1 on their icon, their count number, as well as some of my corps cannot be chosen for manufacture, do stock BPO's from the market need to have materials research done on them to be able use them at all?
thx again

The blueprints with a '1' in the lower right corner are still "packaged", so they don't show up in the industrial interface. You should still be able to use them by right-clicking on them. It sounds to me like you've bought a battleship BPO without having done any manufacturing before?

Edited by: Litanis on 29/05/2006 18:25:02 actually, yes im staring out now, but have some skills there already, the BPO's i bought for myself were cheap low end ones, condor and shuttle, just to test stuff out but my corp is going to be obtaining some BS BPO'S shortly, and since im ahead of everyone in manufacturing skills im going to be the one handling building things
how do i manage to "unpackage" them, do they need ML research done to be used for production
i have made 1 thing so far successfully so ive managed to figure out basically what to do, but that BPO didnt have a packaged number, and so was available in the BP list
what do i need to do?
or do i just need to use them for personal building before corp?
i cant produce anything where i am unless it has been selected from corp hangar, so im guessing a station change will be needed?

Just right click on the bpo and select what you want to do. And if you are into building things remember to study production efficiency, it's the skill most needed to make efficient use of your BPs. Specially for high cost BPs is a great thing.

So if when you copy a BPO it turns into a BPC, then how do you get BPO's other than buying them? Loot?

Edited by: Theryon on 30/05/2006 04:56:00 you can obtain BPO's from players, the market or agents for special BPO's like faction ships, or in loot

If you copy a BPO you get a BPC but you conserve the BPO too, otherwise it'd be dumb to copy BPs.
You can get BPOs by buying them on the market, buying them in escrow (or direct trading) or being given one by a R&D agents. As far as I know loot only contains BPCs, and this is what other agents give to you too. You can also buy them on escrow or from other people (if you are near Metropolis' region the people of the channel MCORP_SALES have nice packages, I bought from them and it was a good trade, so I guess a little indirect advertising would not be bad ) via direct trade in the station.
When buying a BP check the remaining licensed runs, if they are unlimited is a BPO, if limited is a BPC. Check it and avoid scams.
Aaaahhh, nice loot... I still feel warm inside when I recall when we found a daredevil 1 run BPC in a rat's can.
Have fun!
