Small battles are more fun during the fight, most of the time, because of lag.
On rare ocasions (and never with more than 100 in local or so) fleet battles are the most uber of uberness, even though when you're number is up you get vaporized in an instant. Nothing else in eve (or any game Ive ever played really) requires the same amount of oranization, coordination, discipline, forthought or manuvering as fleet battles. THAT is why people like them.
Plus the really major fleet battles like on the day FIX lost our egg, or the stuff in 9cg right now, etc... that is the stuff that history is made of in this game, and it's always nice to be part of history.
No one is going to know who the hell I am in a year, but I'll be able to say "I helped slaughter SA and HF and then went lemming with every ship I owned against the BOB blob when they killed the FIX Egg in early .06" and people will be able to say "oh yeah damn!"

I think the most interesting thing here is that ....
There's was 'one' FIX left in 9CG, whatever you say about this informal coalition of alliances they have clearly achieved their objective.
They have also turned their home regions into one of the most dangerous places in Eve, kudos to this 'coalition' for taking on BOB in the face of adversity.

Did you all not think this threw did you not expect this. Im a newer FIX member but in a very short time I was able to summarize that.
1) BOB had respect for FIX and we respected them.
2) That we didnt mind being neighbors to eachother because we were straight with eachother on our intentions.
3)That although BOB are more than capable of handling themselves FIX served as a nice buffer zone.
4) That should FIX lose Querious BOB would immediately come in and cleanse it and restore the buffer zone.
I mean comon was it that hard to see?
Reasons why FIX likes BOB
1) they hold true to their word!
2) They bring it!
3) They dont smack no matter the outcome of a battle
4) Because BOB are admirable in what they do.
5) Because they dont like who we dont like LOL.

honestly i think that most could honestly care less wether FIX and BOB are working together now, just more targets to shoot.
and for those who are saying go after BOB.....well with the exception of an appearance for tonight, BOB forces have been the only cohesive fighting force in the 9CG area for the last week and a half or so that i have seen, so yeah thats what we are doin.
some nights ya win some ya loose and it wont be over till one or the other says "screw you guys im going home."

If it were true that your people lagged out in same statistics as ours did, the results would have been diffrent, wouldnt they be?
I mean, thats only logical: If half lagged out on our side, half should have lagged out on yours to.. yet it doesnt seem that way to me.
Another fact: If only half lagged out, then the other half should have been able to fire normally.. yet many of the primaries I heard appear to have survived.. with the lag, they couldnt have warped out under fire, unless very few (like 3-4 at most) actually targeted them.... but thats IMO.
Finally, all what I wrote is pure logical deduction off the facts as seen on the battlefield, not with the assistance of tin foil hats 
Seriously Audrea, you just need to be calm and take all that lag thing not that seriously. We suffered no lag ? That's just crap. I warped on the warp point at the first engagement, i aligned to my warp out point, double clicking my mouse as fast i could, the alignement happened like 1m30sec later ... in the mean time i had locked all ships in range and none of them got locked. Then about 3 min later i started to get locked and hit the warp out ... nothing happened ... i kept trying and trying, when it finally happened i warped out and back from several places in the system without being able to do anything ... so seriously lag was for everyone in system, some didn't suffer as much, some did. That's just the game, you don't like it, stop playing.
Oh and let Hans do the battle reports. He's just better at it.

BoB and Fix have always been friends, it was obvious that they were going to help them when they really needed it.
You banded together to take out fix, which is fair enough, but now that they have some1 backing them up, its suddenly lame?
OFCOURSE Fix couldnt survive without bob, your 5-7 alliances! Are you completely and utterly mindblowingly stupid that you think an alliance such as fix could stand up to that? I'd love to see ANY ONE of your alliances stand up to that, but since half of you live in empire, i suppose thats impossible.
Anyway, if your so sure your guna win, why does a few fix matter?

BoB reset there standings all to neutral so they could get people to form a coalition amd bring it, i think those were TWD's words. So we formed the coalition and now they ally with FIX. Im not saying they shudnt have done this, as it was probably a smart move on there behalf or they would have lost the POS last night. But it kinda goes against BoB wanting to test themselves against EVE. Making the Sirmolles thread about resetting standings now void. So if coalition was to bring more alliances into the frame can we see BoB making more naps ?

Ofcourse they still have naps, but very few. They still relativly reset all thier standings (that doesnt make much sense but you get my pt). They went from having nearly the whole south napped, to now just having fix/xelas/people in delve and pb/MC. Thats still a tonne of enemies.
Admitedly it makes molles post about standings reset hold a little less wieght, but its in no way null and void. Anyway, fix will end up in a xelas like situation soon anyway.
If you bring more alliances in, i think bob will just continue to hammer you into the floor like they are doing now. Oh yeh sorry, i forgot about that 1 dread kill, i suppose it all rides on that! Diana obviously cant afford a new dread.
You guys need to start putting things into perspective before you can even think of winning a war vrs bob.

Although just rumours and i suppose proving these theories are virtually impossible but i heard that during the EC-P8R siege tha friends of BoB (who happen to be GM's or summat) hardened the node in EC just for the BoB invasion ,
coupled with that rumour is that everyone else cept for boB experiences lag in a big fleet battles.
end of the day personnally i dont really care if boB is run by GM's or not to create wars to try to get the membership of eve higher.
And i usually always dispel these rumours as idle gossip ect but there's always a little thought thinking ' there is no smoke without fire' ect ect ect and maybe just maybe there maybe a little truth among all the wild rumours and speculation.
