Today I resign from TTI.
Not because I don't respect the corp (bacause I really do). But because I see my freinds leaving and endless Gurrilla warfare is not my style.
The way I have been playing eve has seen me gain freinds from IRC mostly and Game secondly. I can still talk to all my freinds without beeing in TTI. I have enjoyed all my time in TTI and I have learned much. Beta with TTI was probably the most fun I ever had in EVE. I want to move on and look for some Fun again.
To continue on and fight (was all ready with my newly outfitted apoc to start learning PVP) in Venal will see me destroy people who I respect and see no reason to kill. These people are RONA corp. They are the NVA force. How the NVA thought they could continue on after their announcement without RONA is beyond me. I'm pretty sure RONA joined after that initial announcment. As I see RONA there day in and out I see no reason to undock and start learning my PVP skills against from what I can see is a peaceful corporation who has been caught up in this fiasco. And i've chatted with many of them and they are good guys.
So this is it. I will be looking for a new corp. I wont bring any baggage with me as I have no vendettas against anyone (i like getting jade going though).
Goodbye TTI and thanks for everything.
(p.s. i'm always on IRC so just hop on over if you ever want to talk to me) _______________________________________________2005.05.02 03:56:57combatYour Mega Pulse Laser II perfectly strikes Sansha's Battletower, wrecking for 1190.5 damage._ |

Derek,
On behalf of RONA corporation I respect your decision and your kind words about our corporation. RONA is going to work hard to create peace at a cost that is affordable for all people who are a part of this conflict. We are open to making things right for EVE and for the people who play here. We look forward to future relations with you and appreciate all you have done for RONA.

Derek, congratulations on coming to your senses and proving you are a bigger man than your association with Taggart once suggested.
It takes bravery and principle to walk away from a familar company descended into shadows.
I wish you all the best in your new career, and as long as you don't have anything to do with piracy and gate-camping henceforth then you have nothing to fear from me.
I applaud your words about RONA Corp and ask you to read again the NVA declaration of principles. RONA is a signatory and full ally of the 28 corps so united by that document. It really is the intention of the NVA to secure Venal and Pureblind for peaceful commerce and a fertile environment for future business development.
If you respect RONA then you must respect their ideals and choice. RONA have chosen to stand with the NVA declaration of principles and the future of Venal. That alone should suggest to you the justice of our cause.
Love and peace (and luck in finding a new lawful corporation to practise your skills within)

Well, I won't go into a long-winded post. Let's just say I never cared for TTi, what with the whole pre-beta Shadow_Stalker thing (who is a friend of mine) and all. But I'm happy for you that you are leaving.

This is not the thread for more of your propaganda Jade, kindly keep the comments to yourself on this one.
In case you wonder what I am commenting on, it was the comment about "descending into shadows" that sparked this. And as usual, only this single reply.

Derek had always been, by far, one of the most able and loyal people involved in the running of TTI's day to day affairs. He will do well, no matter where he goes and what path he choses.

Oh do get your tongue out of Ragnar's pants Stavros! Its demeaning for you and embarrassing to watch.
At least Derek manages to go with a little dignity intact.
And in case anybody really doesn't get the picture. Derek, Caladan, Yoshu, and many others have left Taggart since this war began because they feel the corporation today has changed from the corporation they joined, and it is no longer possible to practise peaceful business ethics under the Taggart name.
This is true.
And it is true because the Taggart CEO is still fighting a war in alliance with pirates and murdering scum to tyrannise and dominate a region of space.
Taggart's enemies here are, for the most part, peaceful industrial powers united in an idealistic declaration of principles pledging a non-piracy and free-access to 0.0 agenda as founding paradigm.
These people leaving Taggart are making political gestures whether intentionally or not. It is not possible to separate this reality from the wider war.
So, once again I congratulate Derek on leaving. and I encourage any other Taggart executives interested in a peaceful future to consider their positions.
Neither I nor the NVA have any interest in pursuing personal vendettas against ex-taggart personal, and indeed, having made the honourable choice to break with Ragnar, such people will be viewed once more as worthy members of the galactic community.
Love and peace

Jade, you don't get it. This is Derek's thread. Derek doesn't want to be associated with TTI anymore. Stop talking about TTI on this thread, because by doing so, you are associating Derek with TTI.

Geez Jade, plz stop turning every single thread into a moral crusade into TTI please. Most of the people are leaving because endless Guerilla warfare isnt their knack, and not because they think their Ceo is a nutcase (which he is).
Although I cant stand Ragnar, or Taggart, I think this constant flood of anti-tti propaganda is starting to get more annoying than TTI itself.
I wish Derek luck in finding a new corp, and respect his decision to leave. Maybe someday his CEO will see that his latest batch of decisions have been anything but smart. |

Vf142rex, I neither ôget itö nor care. Nobody has the right to determine exclusivity of response on threads. Not even your august master Ragnar. You have no right or ability to tell me what to do.
Mr Blond, I appreciate your opinion, but I reserve the right to congratulate departing Taggart executives on their choice and to follow-up with slap-downs of muppets who attempt to tell me what I can and canÆt do.

So, can I and my corp have a mining pass into Venal? Or is this statement missing something?
I don't mind corps taking and holding what they can, but do you really have to dress it up?
By the way, not an alt. or a fan of TTI either.

Yes m'dear, the intention is that in the future such passes will be available. At the moment you are free to travel to Venal and do what you want. We have passed the majority point in the ratification process, and as a independent visitor you will find no hostility from us. Be aware however that 6NJ and Y-4 are still off limits due to the conflict with M3G4.

Edited by: Cormyat Astara on 24/09/2003 16:27:25 Derek, I can relate somewhat to your sentiments. I do get a thrill from combat, but it does get old after awhile. It's especially true in a prolonged guerilla war--which pretty much defines what Venal has been for the last month. And when the war is surrounded by neverending propaganda and finger-pointing, and fueled by personal vendettas, it really becomes stale quickly.
Anyway, good luck and have fun in whatever you do.

Jade, your missing the point by a mile or so.
Propaganda is meant to increase the suport of your cause, not to alienate the crowd. If you have had the wits to simply wish him well and leave it at that you might have salvaged some measure of respect from the persons on this board.
Its not about telling you what to do, its trying to teach you manners. With some grace and style you get alot further then spewing out statements that quite frankly are sounding more and more like a broken record.
I wish you well Derek, and may your future enterprises prosper.
