A blue light began to throb in the gloom of the Dominix-class Battleship. The soft, insistent chime of the communications panel pulled Marko away from his latest mountain of paperwork and towards the interface. The signal was coded for urgent, and it was from an operative who had retired from active field duty.
He tapped the respond button quickly. SallyÆs face appeared on the screen. She looked upset.
ôBoss, I need one-hundred and thirty million isk. Make it quick - I'm being ransomed here.ö
Tap, tap, tap . . . the isk was moved from Marko's account to Sally's. She disappeared from the screen.
Worn leather creaked and groaned as Marko leaned back into his chair. A frown settled deeply into his face. Sally was plying the trade routes in The Forge in her Obelisk; there should not have been any way for her to be at risk.
Finally she came back. He could tell she was shaken.
ôWhat happened, Sally?ö
ôI jumped into Kisogo and I was having a text conversation with a friend. I hit 'Enter' to send a reply right as a gang invite from a warring faction arrived, and I accepted it by accident. Both factions were sitting on the gate, presumably sending gang invites to all the passing freighter pilots, trying to exploit the loop holes of a Concord sanctioned war so that they could make ransom demands. My bad timing with the æEnterÆ key got me into their gang. They ransomed me for three-hundred and fifty million isk.ö
Marko whistled. It was a slick plan, and Sally had been taken completely.
But no one messed with his agents without facing the consequences.
ôWho did this to you? What's the pilotÆs name?ö
ôHis name is Moraka Kens . . . heÆs a member of a two-man corporation called Dark Moon Industries.ö
A two man corporation wasnÆt much of a target. It would be a waste of Outbreaks resources to have a war declaration with such a small group.
Perhaps this gang was an alternative corporation for a larger group. These tactics seemed to indicate a detailed knowledge of Concord rules, something that a relatively young pilot like Moraka wouldn't know. Marko dug a little deeper . . . and found what he was looking for. In all of MorakaÆs previous corporations he had worked closely with Turas Kain - a member of Sha Kharn Corp. Sha Kharn was in the Ascendant Frontier alliance...
Marko leaned back and thought for a moment. Finally he addressed his comms panel.
ôJames, get a hold of Sha Kharn and CYVOK for me.ö
Three Weeks later . . .
Blue light. The comms panel chimed softly, signalling the arrival of a bill. Marko checked it. Concord, asking for the fee to continue the war against Ascendant Frontier.
CYVOK and Sha Kharn had been receptive to his story, but both delayed too long in their attempts to address the actions of their member. CYVOK had asked for a few days to investigate, warning Marko that ôdeclaring war on ASCN will hurt you ALOT more than us.ö
Politics and waiting were not two of MarkoÆs favourite pastimes. Within two days of the ransom on Sally's Freighter, Outbreak had begun offensive activities in the Providence corridor leading to ASCN space. After a week a Concord Sanctioned War was declared.
After 3 weeks, Outbreak had destroyed a net of 5 billion isk worth of ASCN ships and recovered more than enough booty compensate Marko and Sally for their loss. The destruction of an ASCN Carrier had provided both expensive loot and sated MarkoÆs thirst for vengeance. Ransom my freighter, will you . . .
Marko dismissed the bill without paying it, bringing the empire war to an end.
In the Universe of EVE, sometimes justice can be served. You just need a big gun.

To be told that warring someone will hurt us much more than them compelled us to do as much damage as we could.
I'm sure the ASCN high command is now quite aware of us, also that we say we are going to do something, we MEAN it, after losing their Thanatos-Class Carrier....
For future reference, I would recommend to all those who cross our paths be weary, as we will hurt you and then hurt you some more until eventually you cave in.

I can only conclude 2 things from your posts Gob:
1) You call your fellow alliance members noobs so your not an alliance person tho I am 'very proud' you posted with your main :)
2) You disliked the war (way of talking in your posts) but you would like us to continue to kick your ass? (rude after being asswhooped)
It was fun to have a empire war with ASCN for me personaly. Lost some, killed some and tried to roleplay a bit but most ASCN only can convo/eve-mail you and tell your a noob after you engaged em :(
Kudo's to Duri x on the ASCN side. Always trickie to fight em, good player and good skills.

It's easy to cast a critical eye when you're safely tucked away from the battlefield.

If u would just take 1 minute to look at our kb u would see that most of our ASCN killing was done in 0.0 space, we even went into AZN and had fleet fights there. I had fun and learned alot about empire warfare, we should do this again sometime  .

Well, learn to read. I didnt call my alliance mates noobs. I said you spend your time ganking noobs, and I said people running alone in haulers arent very experienced nor exactly a challenge to fight. Stop trying to make me look bad :)

yes, read. I said empire and chokepoints (ympwl), highway.
Probs for the azn fight, but that is the only time you really took the trouble to come to our space.

(nothing more tasty then a cold corps and little ketchup)

Ever get the feeling that an alliance that has just lost that many ships and not retaliated with signifcant force (I'm assuming) should just stay quiet and let the heat die down before their mouths get them in more trouble ?

I dont like smack wars, but I dont like my ship mates be poked at for not being brave / ect if the boss wants somthing done they will do it, can be a badger mark 2 :( or it could be an enemy fleet 2 x the size and they are happy and ready to do it, they are ship mates who I cant do without and I will fight for the reprisentaion with my scrambler over words any day but occasionally I will speek through mounds of fur as my scrambler doesnt have a very long range.

It certainly wasnt all simple ganks as the residents of Provi' did assemble galvanised attack responses and on many occasions we found ourselves outnumbered but we met them head on and there were many good fights so respect to them for fighting for a cause. Alas it wasnt enough to stop us, infact it just heightened the flames of our war machine.
All in all i had a great time but my only regret is that the intial culprits have not been publicly flogged yet for their insolence. If there is going to be a private flogging then i would like a ticket also. If its already happened then perhaps a link to the fraps?

I would assume that the persons involved could also have some relation to Duries Kain who has also used the same tactic.
(OOC...Of course,although this gives a great story and reason to exact vengeance..if CCP fixed it so that when entering text you don't automatically accept spammed gang invites...i.e fixed this bug exploit..which they deny exists..then we wouldn't have these problems)

This could have been solved at a much lower price then 5b, but as always, ASCN's ruler in his infinite wisdom and total lack of respect for his members, decided not to..

Furthermore Mr. Ludwig, the "noobs" flying BS's with t2 equipment installed on their BS wouldn't really be considered noobs would they? My last point is this, for someone that never took even the slightest participation in this war, you seem to have a large opinion of it. Maybe you should have defended these "noobs" from being killed rather than smack about it on this forum.
Oh and tell your people to actually post their losses. Your alliance is quick to post kills.

ASCN took on a lot of not very wise people as do most big carebear alliances. Also a noob in a t2 battleship is a nubbin (ie someone whos old but still doesnt know anything). And defending nubbins tbh is a waste of time and resources, if they wont learn why bother with them.

take the time to read my reply to your collegue dash, my pvp char is the one in bio, check that one before spouting crap
About defending noobs who travel alone in alliance war, if you think an alliance leadership or players should defend lemmings that wander off alone under alliance war (for your info ASCN has wardecs on 95% of the year) then you know nothing about alliances and should do yourself a favour by zipping it.

Question for the masses, if your home is being pillaged by several hostile alliances... how smart is it to leave your home and band up together to attack an alliance that did not contribute to your demise?
Instead of directing your hatred and anger towards those who ran you from your homes, you decided to put 1 and 1 together and come up with the number 5.

One clarification. 0utbreak is not associated with FIX, nor are they FIX alts.
FIX and 0utbreak have many mutual friends between them, but by the same token the two entities are mutually KOS and they operate on seperate, although sometimes overlapping, agendas.

What gets me is when people think they are righteous and think they have the moral high ground but they post with an alt. If you think you are so much better than anyone that has posted on this forum todate have the courtesy to post with your main character. Otherwise you are classified as a coward and not worth the time of anyone.
As for your BS about how 5 billion wont hurt an alliance, well it shouldn't really but it will hurt the individual people. The 5 billion isk is just in the basic cost of the ships not including mods or the loot they were carrying. I for one made a nifty 350mill off of one ASCN raven. So as you can see that figure is inacurate.
On final thought. There is no justification required to war any corp or alliance. Should we choose to war against ASCN again we will. For those we choose to war next, be sure that the only excuse we need is that you're there.

I was one of the first members of Carbide, it lasted all of couple of days since it was a split of Shadow Freetrade into two corporations. I found Carbide not to my taste nor the other one.
My only encounters with FIX were on behalf of the Fountain Alliance. You poorly educated pilots might remember it as the alliance that took over Delve and Period Basis when the smugglers gates were found.
If your education means that your vocabulary is too poor to read my missives without a dictionary, I reccomend you fight for better education.

I was never FIX, my Carbide days pre-date that alliance by well over a year.

Riddari: 0utbreak isnt FIX. I really wish they were...I miss those guys. Back to the point, FIX are not 0utbreak alts, 0utbreak alts arent FIX. PERIOD. Well, maybe except for Boldyn. He's my alt and Kujin. Yeah Kujin's my alt too. Well, Pilgrippa too. Um yeah there are my alts...all of them. 
Btw, blame cyvok. I see faults on both halves. 0utbreak finds the rackeeter was associated with ASCN and declares war. Cyvok sees ex-FIX (mind you that shoot FIX) in 0utbreak and revokes standings without any warning. FIX pilots in the mean time respect the NAP but get podded by combined ASCN and AXIOM forces. GG. Anyway, nobody cares...its a game. We're meant to enjoy it.

I would like to lay to rest once and for all, this notion that Outbreak is associated with the Firmus Ixion Alliance. We are not, should you require some proof then look at this. We shoot anyone anywhere. We have no blue status at this time. I don't forsee this policy changing. Some people call us pirates as we will kill anyone in any sec. rated space including Jita. Our belief is simple, if you are a target in 0.0 then you are a target in 1.0.
For those capsuleers that feel the need to associate us with certain alliances then so beit. We have nothing to prove to you or anyone. we don't have to explain ourselves to anyone or will we. If we shoot you we shoot you. if we don't... well consider yourself lucky.

the only thing we¦re discussin here is our revenge towards ASCN and their pirate alt corps who ransom ships in low sec....

we only fought them for a week and a bit, and in that time we more than made up for the ransom from their pirate alts.
We killed a carrier but the guy probably could afford plenty more. And we sent a small fleet to AZN where we fought twice our numbers and against 2 carriers :D
But anyways we werent trying to hurt ASCN, we just wanted some revenge for sally which im sure we more than made up for :D
hope ASCN had as much fun as we did .... and lukeC, pffft, your char has too many clothes on :P

I suggest you look me up on killboards and ingame, then you will know that I haven't been ganked by you much, and that my history goes somewhat back before joining DAB (not to mention DAB goes WAY farther back than ASCN, but to be honest, DAB has nothing to do with this post in the first place, as explicitly stated above and below); feel free to chalk up another "Xetic grudge" cliche - I know where I was and what my corp and I did, and what and how happened around me; no need to spin anything.
