In the next part of the Bloggers series, Clover previews the 'in development' Professions system, including a new profession and some insight into the importance of Hacking and Archeology.
Enjoy!

I thought the same :P
any chance of increasing the drop rate of the skills needed to build the cosmos items, they are probably a bit too rare for what they are worth, and most of the items they are used to build suck :p
yay for boosters and tech 3 a set of those would be nice on the new caldari bs :> ------

Very interesting read - I think my only concern is that this will be too complicated for the average joe to get into.
Nonetheless, good stuff. ______________________ 106 days and still a hijack virgin... Cherry popped! ~kieron

Yeah, shield is kind of meh. Elemental shields are better, though its rather unbalanced that you can only get 9% from an altar and get 25% from the sigil stones.

THANK YOU CCP!!!! When Archeology and Hacking 1st came out you guys said they'd be so cool! So I got them both to lvl 5 to find out what a waste it was. NOW I CAN'T wait to use them for what they're meant for! This and Exploring is going to be such a Kick-A Combo!
Thanks Guys! -Nate D

When it comes out it will probably require large railgun spec 5. Proposal to fix blobbing and make Charisma useful.

nah, CCP have already said they want the skills to be roughly the same as t2. as t3 is simply a progression of the spec, having the skill to 2 seems to be appropriate. Don't forget, we still have T4 and T5 to go (spec 3 and 4?).

See that modification type in the description? That would be the specific bonus for it. I'm guessing it's been modified for a caldari sniper BS with shield thingies.

Quote: Shortly after deciding that doing something called mini-profession was way cool and the way to go, we integrated them into the grand Next Generation R&D scheme of things that Oveur came up with (he made this HUGE diagram linking everything in EVE with everything else, it looks cool but it gives me migraine looking at it for too long). From this monstrous diagram arose the simple truth of what mini-professions are: they enable players, in one way or another, to create items not otherwise accessible.
Will give my soul to see that diagram!

Quote: Finally, we’re adding the option for you to use your Codebreakers on locked acceleration gates in complexes to try and unlock them (but beware, this can spawn additional enemies if you fail!)
Does this mean if someone wants to chain npc's inside a complex he just has to zap a locked gate with a codebreaker from time to time?
Looks promising though =)

I fear plex *****s will just steal stuff if you manage to get in before them now...
Altho spawning extra enemies on purpose could be good isk farming.
